He's not bad. Everyone complaining about him being a brick are overblowing things. Especially since I don't need Thanos to be in Spider-Man poses. Apparently the skirt is an improvement on the old one, the new one has cuts allowing him to spread his legs. The new head is pretty fantastic too, I'm not the biggest fan of the long eyebrow armor on the MvC version, but I love the expression he has. Such an improvement over the single release. Thanos should always have a shit eating grin on his face.

Any 3pack SDCC hunter here wants to share their anguish? I stayed up until 430am my time, similar time to when it went up the day before. Of course it became available again after I went to sleep.

What is going on with in/out preorder window? Are they just putting out cancellations? But the number doesn't add up, if they are cancellations then the window should be narrower and narrower. Instead it is up for roughly 45min-1hr at random times everyday. Is it FOMO campaign? But who does it benefit, unless mid-level employees are the one doing the scalping. Are they just putting backorders. Or are they just literal idiot monkeys with shitty online systems. I don't get it, this is the whackest way to sell a product.

Anons, not all toy companies do that. An action figure takes about a year and a half to two years from the start of the CAD work in the design stage to it being boxed and put out on store shelves. If they switched to an entirely made to order model figures would take like a year to come out. Nowadays it's like two or three months since they get solicited before they start showing up in collectors hands. You have some import companies that do this but the bigger ones like Bandai don't.

The answer is combination of incompetence and backorders. Units don't come in a single big shipment. However many, 2-3k units are coming back to the warehouse via multiple trucks. Furthermore, there are stocks from China factory that didn't make it to SDCC (backorder). That's why the inventory is in flux. The real question is whether there will be a 2nd production run. I think Hasbro can honestly say "currently there's no plan" - but they don't want to piss off the consoomers, and they want to reserve the right of doing 2nd production run, so they just said nothing

Jada figures are not worth $40. They're definitely better and more competently done than MLs, but Jada still show signs of domestic cheapness and should be $25. ML should be $20 and should've been $15 when they were $20.

Which is probably what these all would've been if the companies didn't grab 100% markup for profit and instead took a reasonable amount.

Also you can never give an inch to an incompetent company like McFarlane or Hasbro and say "well if they did X or Y I'd pay more..." because you know what would happen? What happened with McFarlane collector edition. It was supposed to be $30 for "more accessories." For awhile it was. Now what is it? It's the same amount of accessories the regular figures had and $35. Incompetent companies can't make better figures. They have to go out of business so better companies take their place. They are fundamentally broken.

Spinneret is a different continuity where Peter ends up adapting the big bad's power stealing tech to power MJ. Despite starting off from a Slott story, Renew Your Vows is a decent campy read, at least until the timeskip.

>why do they keep trying to make MJ a spider-man even though it only ever lasts like 2 weeks
At first they were marketing stunts, then it became about desperately trying to decouple her from Peter to bury the marriage and also trying to launch her as her own character, which keeps failing. Then there's also the fact no one working on Spider-Man since 2006 has any real social life or is capable of observing others', so they can't write the driving force of ASM and everyone just ends up with powers eventually. Liz and Normie are symbiote pilots now, if you can believe it.

MJ is not strong or valuable because she has no powers, therefore she must become a "strong independent woman" which can only be achieved through vigilantism. Peter represents her "submissiveness" so burn all the bridges. I've literally said, several times now, that $40 is too much just for an included piece of cardboard. But the way some of you act about pricing is literally like getting bent out of shape over $6. It's outrageous. And the fact that you need to resort to pretending to miss my point is just sad man.

If we're being honest, in the grand scheme of things, $15 is nothing. I could fart away $15 and not notice it. No, I'm not willing to pay $15 for a Tranny the Gathering card, I'm heterosexual. So I just won't buy the product and move on with my life like a normal, non mentally ill individual does. I don't spend my days screeching on a Taiwanese basket weaving forum that it's unfair that other people who are willing and able to pay that price so it. What if you're a homo and you play MtG? Maybe you want the card too? Who the fuck am I to judge what you collect when I'm buying little plastic comic book men. Point is, throwing a hissy fit at me, just because I don't sperg out over $15 isn't going to help your cause and it only makes you look like a baby. Cut it out. Just don't buy the figures and move on with your life. Goddamn, why are toy collectors the whiniest cunts on the planet? Makes me embarrassed to share a hobby with you subhumans.

Yeah, I'm pretty done. Modern Hasbro are a bunch of ballwashing bastards. I'm fucking sick of them paywalling new characters bundled with a rerelease of something they've sold us many times over.

I'm kinda glad they did away with BAF's, makes picking & choosing easier. I'm done buying MCU crap. I'm not interested in fly-by-night variants or stupid modern crap characters like their Harley Quinn ripoff Hallows Eve.

I'm fucking pissed that I bought the entire Zabu BAF wave with shitty nobody's forced in just to get Kazar with Zabu, only for these absolute cunts forcing Shanna into an exclusive pack with a BAF I already own.

There's no red pupils there, you're delusional trying to fool yourself. No sprite in any of Thanos' game appearances has anything but hollow sockets because from his first appearance all the way up until the Infinity Gauntlet run he always had hollow black eyes.

The promo art for characters isn't a good indication of what their in-game models look like because of inaccuracies like war machine having a comic face an upper body, psylocke looking nothing like her Sprite, then let's face in the promark also looking nothing like the sprite.

So yeah if you want a collection of marvel Legends based on just the promotional arc, leave him as is. For everyone who wants a character that looks like what they play and stare at 99% of the time, get rid of his pupils. Poor psylocke got the worst with the wrong skin color wrong face, just about everything looks bad on the figure. At least we got a Sprite accurate war machine before the two pack. I hope they come out with a red-orange Venom, maybe label him as gamerverse Toxin. Just like Jada is doing player 2 colors that would be cool to see in Marvel Legends. This is $90. There are cheaper coomer figures that don't come with a giant pterodon man. The attraction for the high level coomer is not only the nudity. That can be had in many random Chinese manufacturers. But rather the forbidden aspect, which makes the figure more titillating. The fact this was produced by a major toy manufacturer, even though it doesn't show as much skin as a true coomer figure, ignites an allure, a stimulation in the mind of the coomer.

You keep bringing up anime shit as if that's in the same realm when it's obviously not. We're talking about the Savage Land set (which seeing as it's selling the fuck out, I guess that means the Legends community is full of "coomers"). Having a few fairly tame figures like that among a bunch of standard superheroes isn't gonna set off a huge red flag, the whole shelf would, if anything. Nerd shit is definitely mainstream, but only in a minor sense. A medium sized book shelf with a variety of statues, props, and memorabilia is seen as cool, but as soon as it starts taking up a whole wall, that's when it's seen as bad. Not necessarily. Just because they're scantily clad, doesn't mean that's the only reason people are buying these figures. The Savage Land storyline is a pretty popular one and a lot of people have been asking for them to reissue Sauron for a number of years now. Just because you're buying them because you're a degenerate, doesn't mean everyone else is too.

>Having a few fairly tame figures like that among a bunch of standard superheroes isn't gonna set off a huge red flag
No, it wouldn't. But judging from some of the posts here, people who don't even collect MLs are trying to get them. I mean look at >>11518995. I can only assume he has a whole shelf of coomer shit.

>A medium sized book shelf with a variety of statues, props, and memorabilia is seen as cool, but as soon as it starts taking up a whole wall, that's when it's seen as bad
That massively depends on how the display is. You can have large collections that, if curated and displayed well, then no one will care. Sure, if you have shit strewn all of your one bedroom apartment like a swine people will cringe, but if it's regulated to a single space/room and is actually displayed with care, then it's fine. I have a large collection on display and I've had numerous people geek out over various shelves in my office when they see it. It's how you present it. As long as you're not a disgusting slob, people don't care.

I'm gonna explain, AGAIN, how tariffs work. First off they are a tax ON THE SHIPPERS/IMPORTING COMPANY who want to import goods and must paid BY THEM FIRST the moment they hit customs. Trump promised to fine stores that are passing the tariff charge off to customers.

Because the store won't show you the tariff records you won't know if you're being gouged (you are) because they can make up any price they want. What's supposed to happen is the manufacturer shipping the product out covers part of the tariff, the shipping company covers part, and the importer/store covers the rest. If you're being charged the entire tariff amount how do you know if it hasn't been partially paid and the store isn't making a killing off you under the guise of "muh tariffs"? You don't. Stop shopping at those stores.

Remember these are multi-million dollar manufacturing corporations that give out millions of dollars of bonuses to their board members, a small part of that can easily cover tariffs. The shipping companies are mega corps with fleets of ships, billionaires that run out of every port in the world. They can afford to cover some too. And the shop you're buying from, even if it's a brick and mortar like BBTS or EntEartg (but most likely Amazon/Walmart/Target) can easily cover the rest of the tariff instead of handing out a new Ferrari to their board members every quarter.

Let's recap: IF YOU ARE PAYING TARIFFS THROUGH AN ONLINE STORE YOU ARE EITHER BEING GOUGED OR ILEGALLY BEING TAXED WITH A FEE THREE OTHER ENTITIES ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY.

Companies are starting to shift more tariff-related costs onto consumers.

Many businesses chose to absorb the additional tax during the early days of President Trump’s trade war. But evidence is emerging that they are running out of options to keep prices stable in the face of deteriorating profit margins, suggesting that the tariffs could have a more pronounced effect on prices in the months ahead.

Government data, including from the Commerce Department this week, show that prices rose in June on items heavily exposed to tariffs, such as home furnishings, toys and appliances.

They are currently restructuring all their marketing around the next Spider-Man movie, people like Feige have verbally written off Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts at this point.
They might've just told Hasbro to re-run certain specific figures who might appear (Like presumably JJ will be in the movie), or just any Spider-man related shit in general.
They pushed back the next Avengers and now it'll be coming out AFTER Spider-Man: Whatever, so they might've delayed an MCU wave or two, and maybe they don't have the next batch of Deadpool 3 figures ready to even announce officially, shit like that.

I've been a day 1 collector for Marvel Legends. I only lapsed between 2006-2012. I'm also a coomer collector, so let me give a brief history. I'm defining coomer figure as female character who are sought after and yields higher than MSRP price in the aftermarket beyond other male character. A pretty face can be a coomer figure I have tons of examples.

Coomer figure officially begin when Hasbro introduce female buck that has no ball jointed hips. Moonstone and Satana 2013 SDCC exclusive. These are very shapely, muscular buck with fully shaped ass and boobs. Satana is also scantily clad. These two would sell for far more than their other fellow SDCC exclusive of that year (Crossbones and Luke Cage) despite being not that much high profile characters. Coomer tax for sure.

Several figures down the line would share this buck. Black Cat from Ultimate Goblin Wave. Rogue from Juggernaut Wave. Red costume Dark Phoenix Jean from TRU 2pack is the first pretty face waifu tax figure. She sell more than green costume Celine Dion looking Jean. XForce Psylocke would also qualify as coomer figure, the belief at this time was Hasbro will never release figure as scantily clad as Psylocke in regular release. The original Scarlet Witch from Odin wave is another pretty face figure, she would sell for more than her counterparts like Enchantress. Silk from Space Venom is also another early pretty face waifu tax, she would be hard to get because people want to use her head as Psylocke. Another certified pre-Covid coomer figure is Scream the symbiote. Initially she was binning pretty badly, but this was the time when Hasbro was really cutting out the asses and boobs on their female figures (think of AoA Jean) - so there was some panic among coomers that Scream will be the last figure using the Moonstone buck, so people would buy Scream in bulk and she shot up the prices till today. But to be fair, Scream also has symbiote tax going for her.

I still don't think availability matters.
Enchantress has one of the best faces of any female ML of the 2010s and is canonically a master of sex and being a whore and she was a huge peg-warmer like everyone in that Dormmamu wave.
Anonymous No.11519865 >>11519867 >>11519868
>>11519859
That proves my point, Enchantress binned because she has an ugly face. Coomer tax only applies specifically when the figure has a pretty face, using specific buck, and/or scantily clad. And I say coomer "tax" because the figure would bin or go below retail otherwise, like Celine Dion face Phoenix from Juggernaut wave. Having coomer tax certifies you as coomer figure.
Anonymous No.11519867 >>11519873
>>11519865
But Enchantress DOESN'T have an ugly face, and on top of that she's one of the few figures to be displaying any kind of emotion rather than neutrality or neutral "focus", and her expression is one of coquettish sluttery, like Yennefer from the Witcher games, Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones, or your mom.
She's better looking facewise than several of the figures you listed.
Meanwhile Lady Loki for example was sought-after, party of 5 pack, great tits, slutty character in general, but then got rereleased and is now readily available. By your logic, she stopped being a coomer figure.
Anonymous No.11519868 >>11519871
>>11519865
Like for example, Silk. She's not that popular of a character. People barely knew her. But she's always hard to get from day 1, and never sell below retail, except when there's massive selloffs when a new prettier Silk is announced (like 2020 fan vote Silk). Nobody truly care about Silk. She's just literally a pretty face figure. She's a terrible Spiderman figure because at this time the female buck articulation with singe jointed arm doesn't allow for great Spiderman poses. Her entire existence is coomer/waifu tax.

This further proves my point that coomerness can not be defined by demand or price alone.
Lady Loki was 60+ bucks for years because she was just in that 5 pack, but now a slightly better version goes for under retail value everywhere you look, which by the other guy's logic would remove her from the coomer list.
Or for example, the 2-Pack Silk. That's a solid figure, pretty face, etc. and she goes for a hefty mark-up, but that's almost entirely because she was in a pack with a classic Doc Ock that most people missed out on the first time. It had nothing to do with her.

I disagree that coomer figures must be worth over MSRP on the aftermarket. The term coomer merely innately implies a female figure that males find looks attractive and thus naturally male considerations can come into play when deciding on getting the figure. Prices can fluctuate for all kinds of unrelated reasons whether due to re-releases, better versions being released, or a line losing popularity. This does not affect whether the figure looks like an attractive woman.

Thank you TailAnon for suggesting I make a better tail! This rocks, it makes him so much more expressive when simply posing him! I used a Toybiz War Hulk arm tendril which I had been saving 22 years for an occasion just like this.

Kaiju daddy did a stream the other day saying that reps at Disney were ready to move on from classic comic figures and focus fully on new comics and mcu. Which means this is probably them giving everyone a last shot to own them before it's over.
Apparently they are doing them same with star wars.

I don't really trust everything that guy says. He's only reliable for on-the-ground stuff when getting release date/figure delay info from actual stores, but any sort of future speculation he makes just sounds like him assuming a lot of shit.

Hasbro has like 3 IPs that might even work for that, and one still requires a bunch of engineering work, so you need to be hands on/use the existing Japanese guys to outsource to.

Is this the actual DISNEY people or the folks at Hasbro that deal with Disney? I can see Disney pushing that mentality since they have always had a weird disdain of their own company history and folks in charge really only want stuff pushed that occurs within their own regime.

If Hasbro internally though wants more 'modern' stuff then they are definitely slitting their own throats.

Anonymous No.11521560
Also, the leak hardly makes sense since unlike McFarlane, MLs have releases from all eras of Marvel. Hell, in the mini comic wave you got three classic characters and three modern ones. And we just got a wave of figures for the most recent MCU flick. Anyone who believes this is dumb.
