Minimates were dying even before the new owners of diamond pulled the plug on DST. Minimates havent had a steady output in years and havent been close to their glory days of the late 00/early 10s in quite a while. Even the marvel releases were regulated to giftsets rather than full waves of 2 packs now. I managed to find one of the last minimates releases at a boxlunch at my local mall some months back. I used to collect them ages ago. I kept going until... 2016 or thereabouts. I have a tub full of them. All kinds of licences. Great stuff, really. The last set I went out of my way to buy was the modern FF one with Iron Doom. I check in from time to time, but all the new sets make me sad. I remember when each wave was packed with extras and great selections. New stuff, obscure stuff, themed waves, all that. The last few years all they put out were low-effort stuff like that Spider-Verse set. Few accessories and now sadly they only make sets of 5 or so, no more 8-figure waves. I remember the golden days with the LCS waves, the TRU waves, all the box-sets and so on. The world just gets more and more empty in every single aspect. All the colour's gone...

The issue is that alot of people in my generation (20-30 somethings) are fucking mentally ill and the writers from my generation that write for most media now only want to use said media as self therapy or to push agenda or use as mouthpieces for their beliefs. Theyre so brain dead they dont have any concept of making anything good most of the time. Theres exceptions to the rule of course, but most of zoomers are just plain gone psychologically, especially the creative types making/ruining media now.

Modern writers cant comprehend making a villain act actually villainous or evil because that could be construed as a support for their villainy or condoning of their actions by their insane logic. Look at the leaps and bounds that AI is making. You can literally turn the classics of comics into cartoons or film in another year or two. You cry doom and gloom, but you need to man up and do things for yourself.
