I'm so fucking tired of these shitty repainted and G1'ed Animated toys. I dont care the scale, just give me ONE Animated character that's actually designed from the ground up. Prime has 90% of its main cast done and In the entire 18 years or so of Third Party existing we've only had Huffer and Pipes. Fucking Iron Factory canceled their Prowl, they dont even have faith in repaints at this point.

>>11531936

Likely. Putting fansboytisms aside, XTB's individual bots are stronger standalone figures and don't have some crippling Q/C, dodgy ass transformation, or design flaw (so far). FT compromised everything for the combined mode and parts integration. XTB has a window to hammer home their individual figures in direct comparison before combined modes can be sized up. I imagine there will be plenty of petty screeching on who 'wins out' in the 'war' when both sets are out though.

They look good and come with nice accessories, but I don't really like playing with them desu
The posing is really clunky, they can hardly stand (when transformed as intended) the ab crunch is super loose more often than not, and the wings can't hinge back so it's very easy for them to get in the way (a HUGE pet peeve of mine with seeker molds).
And the transformation, as cool as it is, is also kinda a pain in the ass. There's a lot of annoying clearances getting the arms and tailfins into place, and the way the nosecone/cockpit works means the chest is prone to chipping (rip my ehobby ghost starscream)

I kinda wish they'd make a new one but they've already sunk a gorillion repaints into it, and still continue to, so ehh....

The crotch armor is a little loose if you're bending his ab joint, since it kind of just sits there and expects the ab joint to be closed to hold it in snug, otherwise everything else stays on solid.

Scattershot is probably the worst of the three released by far.
Lackluster articulation compared to the other two that all he can really do is stand.
His transformation to the vehicle is interesting but there's just so many gaps at the end of it that it kinda kills the whole thing for me. It's a vague cybertron ship thing, how the hell does this happen?
Then there's some turret mode? I don't care for to see if it's real or not because I'd just rather leave it as the Computron body. And the shoulder connections is fine but it's not the best. Not sure why they wouldn't take a page out of magic square's arms but whatever it works if you're careful.

>Combiner gun and hand do nothing at all outside of gestalt form
>Some squeaky joints
>Scale is a bit weird, too small for CHUG but too big for Legends
On the last point though they work OK in my CHUG collection, they end up around the height of the old Energon combiners, which isn't bad IMO. But then I do have very eclectic tastes. Can't argue with how they look though.

Anonymous No.11534512

There is, but the way they've done it is kind of a cheat. They've flipped the hips around back to front to utilize the balljoint for the flip-around waist connector (I'm not sure what it's there for, possibly cannon emplacement mode) as a semi-abcrunch. I haven't tried it myself but it's probably quite unstable. You can tell it's a cheat by the fact the butt detail is on the front of the hips.

Yeah I would imagine that you'd need a material that's extremely soft and almost fluid-like to get realistic titty behavior as smaller toy scales. Toy boobs are typically too small for gravity to really act on them and the usual soft silicone materials are proportionately too strong to really behave the way you'd expect a full size titty to behave at toy scales. We really need new advances in toy boob materials.

Seamless figures are largely based off of sex doll engineering, they just need to go the extra mile and do gel filled breasts. But for a transformer i think transforming boob gimmicks is more interesting.

Unless someone figures a way to layer ball joint cups for boob shaping and use a soft coating so you get variable cleavage, there is nothing to do with squishy boobs, or hard boob shapes.

Now, if you get a novelty of having them be twin rounded gimmick chunks, it could be amusing, just you can't have stuff jut out or plug in, and you can't have them be spring loaded.

>things don't last
No, they last if made properly. Wear and tear on a figure is expected of a childs toy played with by a child, but if you're looking into collectibles durability should absolutely be a thing. This is why diecast and chrome are terrible. They cause what should normally be a sturdy plastic figure to have massive points of failure or obvious degradation. Anyone remember MP Megs with his "cosmic rust"? All of the paint shedding from the more painted figures? Etc.

Cast a figure in appropriate colored plastic, use good quality metallic paints, but not chrome, never use diecast at all, don't use rubbery plastic or silicone, etc. And a figure will last decades, easily. Especially if cared for properly.
