What's the deal with Storm Arena prices? They're very good at BBTS, but not so much in other places, including Gundamit which is a Chinese store and should logically be a good option to buy a Chinese brand.
I'm in Europe trying to figure what the least stupid place to buy them would be, looking at local stores now.

I hope they haven't abandoned Soulcalibur entirely. I still need a good Nightmare figure(either II or VI), and I know that Ivy, Xianghua, and Talim would sell. Probably Voldo as well.

You know, I was wondering the same thing. I bought Fei Long there because it was the cheapest place (every other import is more expensive there though).
Next time I'm going to use nin nin because they bought back a payment method where I can avoid taxes

Greedy sellers knew they are in demand right now and getting out of stock until end of the month. Even people I know who dont usually buy figures have them. But they fuck up because one of the appeal of storm arena is being affordable.

They should have release it under storm arena sooner. I wish they would re-release their old figures in that line too like Tyson and Kengan.

BBTS has a good relationship with them so more or less their intended retail price. Everywhere else is price gouging their figures due to demand basically.

Gundamit is cheaper for most countries. Taxes and shipping are mostly included. Buying one at BBTS from most countries will end up costing $70~80 or something.

Choosing Gundamit would typically be a no-brainer for those reasons, but the thing is, Dan Hibiki is $30 in BBTS and $49 in Gundamit, which is ridiculous even if it might still be the cheaper option total.

If I take a look at other random Chinese figures for example it's like:
BBTS $78 vs Gundamit $62
BBTS $100 vs Gundamit $77
But it's the other way around with Storm Arena.
Anonymous No.11534984 >>11535041
>>11533506
That's the point: it's not a real markup. Most buyers would have to pay more if they were buying these from most of the other retailers. On Gundamit (and some others) you pay these (reduced) extra costs upfront. Buy from somewhere else that isn't including these costs and you'll end up having to pay customs fees and shit with some extra costs added by your gouvernment/local operator.

The real isssue is that most countries have terrible importing practices.

>>11534163
SA figures have low prices yet they still cost the same to ship as more expensive ones of the same size and parts of the taxes are flat fees for most regions. It's not the other way around because it's Storm Arena, it's the other way around because they are chinese figures with a cheap base price. Same thing happens all the time with the cheaper Hiya figures.

tl;dr: it sucks but the retailers are not responsible, shitty importing laws are.

If they brought Mortal Kombat back under Storm Arena I'd be all over that shit. McFarlane's Mortal Kombat figures look terrible and have giant pegs, and I'd rather have 1/12 scale anyway.

I'm not seeing it. Gundammit has stuff that's like $15 with shipping and taxes included. If they have a flat-tish extra cost they must factor in their offering price, that cost is not $19 over the cost of an item that has already been shipped from China to BBTS.
Anonymous No.11535045 >>11535524
>>11535041
Also, to bring a comparison to an item closer in price and size that doesn't skew the math, Gundamit has Dan Hibiki at almost the same price as a Xesray figure.

Gundamit prices: Dan Hibiki $49; Xesray gladiatrix $56
BBTS prices for those items: Dan Hibiki $30; Xesray gladiatrix $58

There's something going on that is not the same for one figure and the other.

Minimis
>>11535045
Storm is a big company stores can buy from directly. Xesray is a small studio, you have to buy their stuff through wholesalers/3p distributors. In this case, Gundamit isn't cheaper, BBTS is more expensive.

What's their reasoning for not starting in the true 1/12 scale (Storm Arena). The success of Ryu and Ken proved that they should have done those from the start.
Anyway I have a crazy theory that Storm was the one releasing those bootleg Baki's to test the market.

Different anon here.
I live in the EU.

I once got a breakage on a 2-pack. Precisely, it was the infamously easily breakable shoulder on Storm Collectibles Golden Axe lizard skeleton 2-pack. One of the two figures broke before I could even feel I was exerting excessive force; I dropped the second in boiling water and managed to unlock it.
Asked for a replacement. They called me by phone to talk about it. I think they offered to either give me another set to my pile of loot (iirc I would need to pay shipping and taxes normally) or a full refund to my wallet. I chose the wallet refund since they were just skeletons after all, not a character I absolutely needed intact. They refunded me fully even though I told them I would be ok with a partial refund since only one of the figures broke, so that was nice.
If you choose a replacement maybe you can ask them to mark it as replacement to avoid paying taxes or whatever, I don't know.

(I eventually bought a second set during a sale; I think they are still available and on discount)
