I'm in a similar spot. I still need Neo Metal but at this point I refuse to pay scalper prices out of spite.
I relented to scalpers when I couldn't find Mephiles in stores, but they were selling him for $25 and not $60+ like everyone I see selling Neo Metal, which is fucking absurd.
To this day, the only Charmy I have ever seen in stores is the one I bought. It is absolutely baffling that he has never been included in the checkout lane figures, which are just about the only way to get 2.5" since Jakks sent out way too many of those goddamn Classic Sonics with the chili dogs and clogged the shelves. I don't even collect the 2.5" except when they're ones that go with the 4" line. Charmy isn't even THAT, which is the more frustrating thing in my opinion. They need to make him for the 4" line but I doubt they ever will.
>I'm just so discouraged by going to the store
I don't even check stores anymore unless I already have to go there. It's just not worth the trip when I know the only things I'm going to see are leftovers. The fact that the US hasn't even gotten Metal Virus Sonic or Tangle is fucking laughable. Making them Wal-Mart exclusives was a mistake. Sure, let's put our exclusives in the worst chain of stores in America, the ones where employees don't ever restock things. The store where Jakks sends boxes full of Sonics to line the shelves.
It may sound like I'm making a big deal over toys, but it's just frustrating that this shouldn't be this difficult. It feels like the only figures stores actually care to keep fully stocked at all times are Funko dogshit.
