So if you can’t tell by the OP, this new series is going to be about half the size of the normal keychain labubu (one on far right for scale)
Pin for Love is based around the alphabet, so there will be two box series… box set 1 is A-M and box set 2 is N-Z

there are so many it would be almost impossible to actually get the ones you want without buying both full sets for like $700
atleast the ones i really want (& or L and R or W) arent secrets this time so hopefully i can just get the two from resellers for a reasonable price
i worry about getting a lafufu though which makes me nervous about buying from resellers (or anywhere besides the official popmart stores)

i wonder if R is as dark in real life as she looks in the pictures
i wish they split the difference between R and W and had a nice dark grey gradient similar to the secret "ID" from Big into Energy

i was hoping to atleast get one more Big Into Energy set and try for the Secret one last time but now im worried i wont be able to
maybe i could try and go and line up early infront of the PopMart store in NYC and hope they get some but im not even sure if the stores will be getting restocks

at this point i guess i should just be buying the Secret "ID" from a reseller but it wouldnt be the same as getting one of my very own and i am also worried about getting lafufu (especially for the money they cost from resellers)
i know you can verify they are authentic from QR codes on them and a scratch off code but those could easily be faked in my opinion

does anyone know of any authentic resellers or how to find authentic resellers etc

thats kind of fair but up until now nonstandard sizes have not been sold in blindboxes
the medium and large sizes are only sold directly as alts to the collections

for instance Rock the Universe is technically part of Big into Energy but is not paired with the Big into Energy collection at all

i hope at some point they start selling all of the Labubus directly for higher prices
i would spend $200 or $250 to just buy the secret "ID" from Big into Energy or Chestnut Cocoa from Exciting Macaron outright direct from PopMart
i would buy them outright already but i am worried about getting a lafufu from resellers

im not really sure what else they could do for v5
they already have the three main textures for the fur "nappy" (Exciting Macaron) and straight (Have a Seat (short) Big into Energy (medium))
they have solid colors and tie dye
i literally cant imagine what they could possibly do other then start pairing things up (V1 V2 V3 fur with V3 V1 V2 coloring etc)
maybe they will make a long shaggy straight fur version almost like yetis for V5 in a more muted black and white colorway

I guess part of the reason they won't do that (sell directly) is because it would potentially hurt the value of the ones that people opened multiple boxes for, and more importantly alienate those buyers. Alternatively, it could also just result resellers hogging these sales as best they can, which would just continue the existing problem. Plus the large number of units purchased is the main way they make money, and blind bagged chases definitely support this business model. Agreed though, the sketchy aftermarket does feel like the most risky part of just buying the color or secret you're most interested in, so maybe something like an identifier in the toy could be a new method of identification.

With regards to future upgrades, I saw a video where a Labubu was cut apart and it had the wire going through both arms, but then the feet had the same port but no wire. In all the advertisements these little creature are doing all sorts of poses which they're in fact unable to do. A wire for the legs could be a cheap way to get some additional movement, but I think something that might be an interesting upgrade would be a full body or armature underneath the fur. The price would of course go up, but if the quality is there to match I don't really see the problem there.

Alternatively ya, further fur changes is always an option. They could also just include additional characters in the mainline beyond just Labubu. Another thing I've thought of was maybe faceplates that could be removed to expose movable eyes (rather than the preset expressions).

i think you are probably right that they will eventually work in those features for the mainline for v5

they definitely could also include other characters in the series although i would be dissapointed by that for the most part besides Pippo Vos and Pato (and i guess Mokoko but she doesnt really count since she already has plushes just not available in America)

Ah cool, I'll take a look at those. Makes sense for those big pricier ones to have those features. I've bought one (BiG one) on a whim (waiting til Tuesday to open it with a friend) so we'll see how I feel about them at that point. If they ever do have a fully articulated inner body and other such features I'd definitely be more keen on more of them.

My gf and I joke about labubus all the time, so I am going to buy a labubu box secondhand and put the gyaru hello kitty keychain in it (we love gyarus.)

i have mostly been rolling sets of them to try and get the Secret "ID" which is probably my favorite out of every single Labubu but as for the standard non secrets i definitely prefer the Exciting Macaron series mostly because of the texture of there fur
the patterns and colors of Big into Energy are definitely nice though
hopefully you get one that you really like as the patterns of Big into Energy vary between every single individual Labubu due to the way there fur is cut and they are dyed
also the actual Labubu in general will vary based on which of the three (now or soon to be four) PopMart factorys it came from
they can be slimmer or chubbier and have there ears set in different ways and slightly longer or stockier bodies there is alot of variation (some of the variation being more like lack of QC sadly as in not good) but some of it is just variation variation

depends what you mean
they are all doll sized besides Pin for Love which are mini and some of the partnership Labubus such as some of the Coca Colas or WackyMart ones are kinda small and the all plastic ones like the One Piece Crossover or others are kinda small

so the V1 - V3 mainline Labubus (Exciting Macaron - Have a Seat - Big into Energy) are all "doll sized" (6.7 inches tall)
if you actually mean "BIG" then there are slightly bigger direct buy dolls such as "Wing of Fortune" (8.7 inches tall)
and then medium sized direct buy dolls such as "Lets Checkmate" "Time to Chill" "Best of Luck" "Wings of Fantasy" "Be Fancy Now" and "Rock the Universe" (and a bunch of others) which range from about (14.5 to 16 inches tall)

and then the actual "BIG" ones would be the Zimomos which are "I Found You" and "Angel in Clouds" which are both about 23 inches tall

actually buying one of any of those is kinda difficult

so to actually buy one you could do a couple things
one you would need to sign up for back in stock alerts (i think that alerts you the night BEFORE they will be dropped sometime the next day) and then wait and stalk the PopMart website / app for the restock and manage to buy one before bots / scalpers / other people bought the few they drop
two you could also stalk the multiple (MULTIPLE) TikTok livestreams they have and wait for a COMPLETELY RANDOM drop on one of there (MULTIPLE) TikTok stores and try to buy one from there (also big competition and alot more random and waiting)
three you could TRY to buy one in a physical PopMart store but i heard they are weird about selling actual Labubus in store and mostly just fulfil pickup orders for purchases made online

all of this to say im not even really sure if they restock the Medium - Large Labubus AT ALL and if they do i have no idea how often
"Rock the Universe" definitely is getting atleast some restocks probably since she is brand new and im pretty sure they restock the two different Zimomos once in awhile since they are very popular but im not sure about any of the others

also all of this varies alot depending on where you are in the world
iirc the hardest place to get any right now is America and China
Europe is also somewhat difficult and the rest of Asia apparently they are not that hard to get in the physical PopMart stores atleast
i have no idea about Africa or South America

Right right, I guess I was thinking of the word rather than the abbreviation. It's wild how much variation between them there are, beyond the intentional ones like the patterns but now also from the factories. You'd think that PM would try to nail this down the QC as much as possible, since the premium nature of these is what should be what truly differentiates them from the Lafufus and other bootlegs.

its really hard to tell and imo only getting harder
most lafufus it is pretty obvious you got a fake lafufu right away from what i have seen although you will almost definitiely be stuck with it and unable to return
but the problem is production quality of lafufus is getting better and production quality of Labubus are slipping alittle bit here and there which is starting to make it hard to always tell the difference

also the authentication methods that popmark uses such as the QR codes and Black Light tags are easily fakeable
apparently some of the new ones will have a scratch off code on the box with a one time use code that can be used on the PopMart website to check authenticity and it will alert you that you are the first ever to scan the code
i could still see ways that could be abused though

for instance someone with real labubus bought from PopMart could put a real unused unchecked code on a fake box with a fake lafufu
you would scan it and it says the code has never been checked before and is authentic but it wouldnt

in my opinion probably the safest way to get a real Labubu from a reseller is to private message people who post about unboxing Labubus on social media and seeing if you could buy one of there extras
