I bought a good bunch of the first wave, but then I started running out of room for new stuff, so I only bought the ones that I really wanted. I would buy parts to make different kinds of Z Blob figures and ive made upwards of 30 different Z Blobs. I thought the brain mech was pretty cool, so I bought that. It's alright. The build was fine even though the back has no detail, unlike the original Z Blob figure they made.

2026 will have Ninjago, Dreamzzz, and a new original theme, so it's not all that bad. Yeah, we lost Monkie Kid, and Dreamzzz won't have another wave in the summer of 2026, but that's it. LEGO has a lot of shelf space, but they need to rotate themes or end certain themes to make enough room. I wish they would discontinue more of the less popular licensed themes, in my opinion.

An anon asked this in the last thread, and it seems like a constructive question to have fun with, so I'm reposting it:

>You are in charge of producing a new, successful line for LEGO in 2026. It cannot be Star Wars or any other licensed IP, and it must be different from existing original themes like Ninjago. Additionally, you must avoid gimmicks that have proven to fail in the past. Keep in mind that it must appeal to both kids and adults and get at least three waves of sets. What would you do, anon?

Great! As I said last thread, I would unironically branch the Creator theme into two distinct separate themes. The first would be LEGO Creator: My Life, focusing exclusively on 3-in-1 sets featuring “things but LEGO”—such as animals, vehicles, and everyday objects—with no minifigures included.

The second theme would be called LEGO Creator: Worlds. This line would feature minifigure-heavy remakes of classic sets from older themes. It would include both standard sets and 3-in-1 sets. Within this line, there would be subthemes focusing on Historical, Action, and Adventure genres.

These sets would be released at a range of price points, but none would exceed $140. The primary price tiers would be $10, $20, $40, $60, and $80, with occasional sets at $30, $100, $120, and $140.

Vidiyo died because it was literally twice as expensive as already-expensive Lego. nobody understood you were paying for the phone app interactions, heavily. it's only due to the amazing designs and creative figures that it even sold anything at all. I really think if the sets were priced better, we'd be on series 9 figures by now, and would be looking forward to crazy wacky cool characters way more than the regular CMFs

I'm glad I picked up a lot of them, once they hit half-price clearance and were regular-priced. (it was very strange to pay "full price" yet it's OMG great clearance deal for half-off! lol)

as long as Lego can have a few $10 sets on the shelves, they can make as many $300 sets as they want. poor kids can still get some.

and when those poor kids grow up, they will already have the mindset of WANTING the $600 sets they could not afford as kids

Ninjago had a set that was $10, included FOUR minifigs. in 2024. Lego is in a position to do whatever they want and nothing can stop them

go to the POP! Figure section of any store, look at all the characters. imagine each one is a Lego Minifigure instead. even at $10 a pop (heh) how many would you buy?

of course Funko's brick Minifigures would have to look nothing like POP! Figures. As long as the hair/hat pieces fit on Lego Minifigs, I think it could... pop.

You know what? A Hyrule Castle façade set wouldn’t be a bad idea. Sets like Malfoy Manor are façades and still look great. Sure, it would be different from the usual 18+ or traditional castle sets, but it could look really cool on display and still have a detailed back. And hey, the Disney Castle and Beauty and the Beast castles are façades too, if you think about it. If it included minifigures of Link, Zelda, Ganon, and two Hyrule guards, it would definitely be worth it.

Forget figure walls, modern adult Lego sets, the ones that most adult consumers will buy, aren’t going to be taken apart one day. No one is going to have the time or desire to disassemble 5,000 piece sets. No one will look at their UCS Falcon and think “boy I can’t wait to pull this apart and make something new!”. They won’t end up in parts buckets, they’ll end up in landfills. And the fact that Lego is churning out more sets than ever before just accelerates this problem.

So I finally figured out how to order the new "battlepacks" on PAB, in case anyone else is wondering: You have to go to the store page for any Icons or Creator medieval/pirates sets and scroll down past the product images to see them. As far as I can tell they aren't accessible through regular PAB or any other listing of their own on the Lego site, they're being sold as DLC for existing sets but you can still order them on their own since it's just a part of PAB. The link just brings you to a pre-selected PAB selection that you can modify or add to your cart. It's obviously not anything new or extremely exciting but it's very convenient if you want to buy a bunch of lion knights, pirates, vikings, etc. since you can add everything to your cart in an organized fashion and then add some more heads and weapons to give them better variety.

Having built literally thousands of Lego sets (i.e. all the modulars, all the UCS sets, most Star Wars sets etc etc), I just experienced a particular error for the first time.

Before I started 71499 Mateo's Spray Paint Truck, I sorted the bags in order. I was surprised at how small bag 9 was, but figured that maybe it just had some of the small side builds in.

Anyway... I'd built almost the entire thing and was excited to get into (final) bag 9 as it was now clear that this would be the bag with the dark blue Classic Space helmet and air tanks in so I could complete an new colour of Classic Spaceman. However, it quicky became evident that my bag 9 must have been a little bag that should have been contained within a larger bag 9. But I had no big bag 9!!!! To make it even more frustrating, guess where the dark blue helmet and air tanks must have been? So no new Classic Space guy for me and no doubt a protracted wait to complete the set

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I think it boils down to the fundamental difference in brain chemistry. Women lack something in visual processing and reaction time (see driving for examples) I don’t think they can really visualize anything and the idea of thinking in 3D is beyond them. They also don’t understand and I suspect are different in the task completion dopamine connection. It’s nice to finish a set. I might be a loser but hey… look at this thing… but Lego. I suspect all people and definitely celebrities have that imposter syndrome and completing a Lego is a form of self validation. Women are only validated by the opinions of others. It goes back to men hunting and building LITERALLY EVERYTHING AROUND YOU vs women needing to find and keep a good mate and spreading leg. What’s the oldest profession?

Honestly it is a symptom of a much larger problem where the world is so fucked up, it's impossible to buy a house or leave the rat race so we are finding comfort, control and sense in the past and overpriced plastic.

I think the ship looks nice but this and the Imperial flagship are both a bitch to display because their foremasts and mainmasts each have 3 sails. It's basically impossible to display them on anything but open-top shelfs like in the advertised pic. And if you go the route of displaying them on the top of your bookshelves like I've seen most lego youtubers do,then you now have the problem of having your awesome expensive ship be barely visible in your room.

I've really started preferring much smaller ships these days for this reason, like the one included in the Eldorado fort remake.

Less is more philosophy. Limited brick shapes, colors, and details allow your brain to fill in the "gaps" and imagine the set to be more than it actually is. The barebones interior and details of classic lego is intentionally designed so that kids could easily put in their own creations. Nowadays, if kids try to do that, it looks out of place because their crude creations can't match up to the overly ornate and too professional-looking designs.

I get the feeling we wuz potter is a deliberate ploy to try to finally make Harry Potter and thus JK Rowling unpopular. Who asked for black snape? The social justice warriors? They hate HP because of troons and shit.
The radical right? They don’t want black snape.
Just seems like something they want to fail… and thus sets on clearance.

the art style of Harry Potter was so perfectly designed that it will be virtually impossible to make anything "look" different.

Hogwarts, the costumes, the house mascots, even the wands (not that it matters to Lego) should be identical.

it's ludicrous that it's being done at all. re-make the whole entire thing to add in a few scenes they deleted from movie-length versions? it's insane.

it should have been all new kids at a new year of existing Hogwarts. with an entirely new story. Make Harry Potter a teacher to keep his name on it.

it's exhausting. I've already seen the Harry Potter story I don't need to see it again. oooh again plus more... nah, I'll pass.
