The last non-movie Marvel Legends Reed was released in 2022 and that was the cartoon version, the last comic version was released in 2019. Meanwhile there have been over 15 Wolverines in the past 3 years alone and I'm sure even more Spider-Men, I think they can put out one more FF wave. I'd honestly splurge for the entire team in an updated 4 pack in their made-to-order format.

And like i pointed out, the Figuarts line used to be a pretty mainstay toyline until Bandai started fucking with their engineering, and now it's getting a lot of hate and distrust.
I actually find that funny, given how horrible their sculpts used to be. But for some reason, ugly engineering made their own fans revolt.

Engineering on AY have basically been the same since DP ver2 which was only the combination of aspects of earlier AY, and now are even used on the female body types. I highly doubt if the engineering was so "hated" they would standardized it for so many later items.

Anons might hate the Yamaguchi style sculpt or costume choices but I don't think the engineering is a big factor. The AY body system don't look any worse than other action figures but articulates noticeably more.

I don't think you know, but the Revoltech line was pretty big in the US for about a decade. Lots of official distribution and they were releasing a lot of figures that actually appealed to US collectors. Then they completely disappeared.

Technically, you're right that they're "thriving more now", because they've finally started pushing their wares in the US again, but that's after nearly a decade of being gone and they're nowhere near as known as they used to be.

When Kaiyodo was probably the most US appealing, when AY started, I think they didn't even bothered. Because they got plenty of funds soon after. Instead they clearly focused on China. Their output has increased significantly since. If opening online US store is actually happening that seems more like because they thrived already. US market is a little more tolerable to the limited quantity pricing than before.

I think this because they have almost completely stopped the "appealing to US" IP. It's all domestic popularity and rest of East Asia. US store probably aims for the small weeb demographic but nothing more as a nice extra boost. MGS is a big get but I'm not sure that was to make it big in America move.

If US collectors were actually finding that tiny poseable statue tier figure appealing, no wonder they stopped.

Not only does China not have much of a market for expensive first world toys, (other countries like Hong Kong and failpines are bigger), but you could tell that they didn't have plenty of funds, because the amount of REvoltech type figures they were releasing during this time was muuuuuch lower than 2008-2014.
There used to be Revoltech sub-lines that regularly output a figure, because they used to be that popular. When there's a decrease in production, that's definitely a sign of declining sales.

That goes back to my initial point. The so called fixed engineering you wouldn't know about were already in use early on in AY. Anons only hated certain early AY like #2 Spider-Man overall, or mainly sculpt work or face designs on others. The few modular plastic capes, shit like that. Shoulder joints from #4 are the same type today, two styles of butterfly system same from #3 or #9, elbows of #5, torso from #8, hips and legs barely changed since #5. These are all before the first 2 years of AY. The most recent change to engineering is the bicep swivel from #24 from early 2022 but I highly doubt this alone fixed everything people apparently hated all this time.

Old Takeya and QB are full of repaints which inflates the numbers anyways. But this is where this thing about cost comes in. Average factory wages alone more than quadrupled since Revoltech started so how can you simply judge by releases per year? Those numbers now are approaching 2013 and on numbers which were in the teens. Getting back to peak Revo 2009~10 numbers is unrealistic while using these expensive Chinese factories.

You're more keen on this stats but is also not the most ideal measurement since ultimately the volume of units sold would be the most meaningful. But we don't have them nor can really speculate. How about the quality (price) of the IP? those have probably improved in recent years compared to all previous years of the Revoltech series.

And of course you wouldn't know but during this time they started a model kit business, a dream of theirs for 60 years. Not a cheap startup.

I used to splurg for DHL but that became too expensive this year. Now add a tariff rate of either 50% or an $80 or $200 fee, depending on what your shipper is doing. At that point, why not just pay the extra $20 and get it on Amazon or BBTS? Yeah, saving that extra $20 was nice, but fuck if I'm gong to try and deal with directly importing at this rate.
