New idea for a LEGO theme! I present to you:

FIGHTIN' CASTLES (or MAN O' FORT, we'll figure the name out)
Essentially, it's a great big fantasy world full of dangerous beasts and magical kingdoms. The schtick is that the monsters are Kaiju sized, and the magical kingdoms are giant robots: great big robots with cities and castles built into them, wrassling with the great big monsters.
Each release season would have specific trend;
>Castle vs Mega-Monster. The most expensive set in the release, it would essentially be two massive action figures built out of bricks and technic with each of them standing at a whopping 8 inches tall. The castle obviously has mechanical gimmicks like launching bullets or arm chopping action, plus has a cockpit which is essentially the throne of the lord of the castle, and all of his or her men at arms are on the battlements built into the robot's torso, shoulders, arms, and legs. The mega Monster would be articulated and have limb swinging actions.
>A couple of knights vs monsters sets. Conceptually these are mid range sets price wise. Smaller(about half the size) robots and monsters, but still the same as the bigger set. A knight in his robot with his entourage of Squires and servants fighting a equally sized monster. Perhaps each set includes a small building for the two action figures to "fight over": a barn, a bakery, a black smith.
>"Monster Packs". Basically, small monsters no more than 2 inches tall and a lot less complicated than the previous sets. These would be good as a "grab a small quick thing" set. Can either be a monster or some type of warmachine that men at arms operate. You can even have double packs where you essentially repack two different sets into one for a "versus" box.

You can have mechanisms without sacrificing the interior. The Skull's eye schooner has a very simple way of allowing the steering wheel to control the rudder and unlike the new black pearl, it doesn't completely sequester the captain's cabin from the rest of the lower deck.

Will LEGO ever make minifig versions of Transformers characters like Kre-O did? I like their transforming figures, but I'd love a few Transformers playsets with minifigs, like the Ark, Cybertron, and other stuff from the shows or movies. For the Transformers themselves, LEGO could just create custom molds that minifigs wear as headgear, similar to how Kre-O had Optimus’s mask/headpiece, Megatron’s bucket helmet, Bumblebee’s horned helmet, etc.

I’m on holiday in New York, finally decided to bite the bullet and buy the Shire after a ton of thought! (Among other sets) The cool part was - I was able to get my hands on the D&S GWP! They still had stock, what fun. Was not expecting that - should be a fun build.

I finally caved and got the ARC-170 and I have to say that I actually like it a lot more than I was expecting to. The mechanism for the wings is great but the wings themselves are too short proportionally to the body, I can accept this concession though since these kinds of playscale ships are often not completely accurate to the source material proportionally. The main issue is obviously the overuse of stickers and the extremely annoying curved clear stickers on windscreens that have no excuse not to be printed, but it feels like beating a dead horse to complain about stickers on Yidnsey sets at this point because they have been out of control for a while. Why did lego never truly return to sets with interchangable modulars? I know the 3in1 line exists but I'm talking a base model that has interchangable sections.
