I really like the new Death Trooper. I was surprised how much detail it has and how tight the joints are. It has some weight to it. It also doesn't feel "skinny fat" like the promo shots made it look out to be. The only major issue is the back isn't painted at all besides the red ribbons.

Anyone get any new figgies lately? I just got these. I was going to hold off on Luke for the landspeeder version but ultimately decided I don't really want the landspeeder anymore and I prefer the plastic skirt on the regular release rather than the soft goods with the speeder. The snowtrooper is incredible, easily one of the best TVC figures they've done. Both of these really highlight how shit Dengar is in comparison. I hate that there is no weathering on him. I don't know what the point of making the cod piece removable was because it falls off easily. And his legs were sculpted poorly so he doesn't stand very well. Just imagining how good he could have been if they gave him an all new sculpt too but I guess I get why they wouldn't want to spend the tooling on someone like Dengar.

I was also planning on doing a headswap with Luke but having it hand, I think I am actually fine with the head it comes with

Most recent thing I got is Merrin. She's great now that I fixed her long neck. I'm waiting on a lot of stuff from the rest of that current wave, so I haven't gotten that Dengar yet but Pulse sent a shit ton of emails so hopefully it's not much longer. I never got the original release of Dengar, so I decided to get the reissue instead of buying a cheaper incomplete one off eBay. Personally I'll take the lack of weathering because I feel like the original was overdone anyway compared to the brief glimpses we do get of his costume. I want to do my own to it so I have more control like I did to his BS figure. He deserves a new sculpt though, I fully agree. I want new versions of all the ESB bounty hunters.

Snowtrooper really is fantastic. Excited to get the army builder pack soon along with the Bantha and Landspeeder.

I'm pretty happy so far with the recent Jabba's Palace, and the earlier Alcove with Han Carbonite. A Droid Dungeon would be cool, but are you wishing for a giant all-in-one set? I'd be happy if they did another seperate add-on set of the Droid Dungeon.

While so many have mentioned wanting a Death Star HasLab, I really hope they don't. I'd much prefer a general wide release like they've done with the Tantive IV hallway, so you can buy as many as you like and build as big as you wish. With a HasLab, you have one shot to buy it a year in advance. Today I can still jump online and get another Tantive Hallway. IF they wanted to do something like a one-and-done section such as the Death Star Hangar Bay from ANH, then sure, but corridors that lend themselves to building and buying and expanding at your own pace, then no. A Detention Block, sure. The ROTJ hangar, no, because that's so modular I'd want extra pieces to go as large as I wanted.

Since we got the Cantina, the Death Star is the last most iconic piece from ANH with the 50th anniversary approaching. If I can keep ordering corridor pieces off of Amazon yet get a Detention Block and or docking bay from HasLab, that would be the best of both worlds.

They've already made concepts if not prototypes of it and if I remember correctly the proposed price was like $900 and even that was a couple years ago. So that’s obviously not going to fly. It was overall pretty enjoyable and comfy to me. I played it for a few months and 100% completed it but haven't touched it since and did not bother with the DLC which seems like very little content for the price.

However I hated the main narrative. The story and characters are pretty terribly written. But somehow the random mini side quests found in the world are written quite well and the only reason I even liked some of the characters who are annoying in the campaign. The gameplay is meh, nothing particularly impressive or fun. But I really liked the environments and just walking around the open world and looking at all the details and solving puzzles and picking up collectibles. It was easy to forget how all but two planets are taken from Disney shit canon with how nicely they are designed. Doesn't come close to the kino that is Jedi Survivor but I think it’s worth picking up on sale and content wise it is several hours more than Fallen Order and Survivor combined

I collect both. I would say TVC is better for troop building or worldbuilding with vehicles and playsets. TBS with their size and detail arguably look better on a shelf. I guess decide what your goal is. With TVC you can have a large collection and set up scenes with background characters and dioramas and stuff. Both scales have their advantages and disadvantages, it really just depends on what kind of collector you are/want to be. Personally I buy both scales but I've largely switched my focus back to TVC because it's just way more fun. I now have a full size Cantina to fill with figures of a bunch of weirdo aliens. Black Series will never be able to do that. But if you want just a Luke Skywalker to put on your desk or shelf and don't care if he has context or not, then 6" would be better. Everything I have in my main display is 6" stuff just because it fits better that way but the stuff I actually mess around and play with all the time is the smaller scale.

EVERY scale has its merits.
Jazwares Micro Scale Galaxy are fun as hell for diorama building, especially if you have skills with 3d printing and miniature painting so you can ditch their figures and make your own.

1/18 TVC are great for world building and play, since everything goes with it, figures, vehicles, playsets, creatures, etc

1/12 Black Series are great for characters as well as very specific dioramas.

Want a Battle of Hoth scene? MGS would be epic, TVC would take up a lot of space. Cantina or Jabba's Palace? TVC is the way to go. What if you want to build your own Falcon Cockpit diorama? Then Black Series would be best. Same for so many other vignettes. Basically everything boils down to how much space you have and what you want the focus to be.

If the gunship doesn't fund, should I just spend that money on the scalper prices for the Mustafar duel set? I'm still so bummed about not getting it... If they do end up doing another run, it'll probably be after I already got the regular releases so that'll suck too

I think it's partly because everyone sees him differently since there's no clear distinct look for him. Even in the N64 version of the game, the artwork for the cutscenes used different actor likenesses in every scene to get the angle and expression they wanted. This sculpt just feels like an amalgamation of several references so it just feels off. Personally I think they should have at least given the figure some five o'clock shadow and he would have been closer to pic related.

Finally got my Cantina in! Had planned to display it in sections on my existing shelves but every permutation of that setup looked shitty and weird so now I have a larger desk ordered from Amazon that should be able to display most of it together.

Tried setting up with the Cantina figures I have and sadly some of them are just way too old and shitty to put on display here. Labria and Wolfman especially, but quite a few of the random aliens are middling sculpts from the early 2000s and are only going to be posed with their backs turned until they get updated.

Price is only part of the issue, it never should have been a Haslab in the first place. Millenium Falcon, AT-AT, X-Wing all got larger updated sculpts as part of mainline distribution and an updated LAAT like this should have been the same. Haslab should be for dream offerings that don't work for retail, not a 20% improved version of something that's already been on store shelves seven different times in the past.

The old LAAT wasn't perfect but it was serviceable enough. They should have updated the U-Wing as the one we're stuck with is actual ass

I bought the deluxe but I'm going to display it as standard and up high on a standing desk so that you can better see across the bar and into the opposite alcoves. Fair, Disney Star Wars and Hasbro in particular do seem to be one continuous tragic comedy of errors. They actually managed to snatch a victory from the jaws of Sequel Trilogy defeat with Mando, but then they immediately squandered all that goodwill away with Kenobi, Book of Boba Fett, Acolyte, Mando s3. It's funny that they really thought they could turn Star Wars into another MCU and tried to put out as much of it as they could because they didn't realize that a big part of Star Wars's staying power was that the movies were rare enough to become events. To the hardcore fans there was always something to consume, but for the casuals it was the big summer movie that had decades between trilogies and even then the individual entries were three years apart. In some ways it is better to buy multiple sets. I got two and swapped some pieces around to make different variations but it was also a blessing to get two Enochs. The face on one was so poorly painted (a common issue with these troop packs) but the second one I opened was a tad bit better. So I swapped the heads around and used the body to make a separate commander.

I think they will put them out on single cards eventually. They tooled enough different parts for the troopers that it would warrant a few releases with some alternate deco or to do Ezra in disguise. And they're still the main force of Thrawn's army, so it would make sense to put them out again for season 2. I'd still like to get some of the Deathtroopers. I don't think I'd want another 4 pack but maybe a 3-pack where they do two of the troopers and then full witch mode Morgan Elsbeth with the Blade of Talzin and some green magic effects to make up for that boring as single card release.

Though I kind of want to get the Incinerator Trooper for the flame effect and to see if they got his tanks going the right direction.
