I'm impressed by how they did it in Legacy, but as a kid I thought it was cook how both Motormaster's cab and trailer turned into the robot as it differentiated him a lot from Prime.

>>11545330 (OP)
I don't like Menasor or Superion being these like frame combiners, and I know it looked like it on the show (don't care desu). But for Devastator he already was a serious partsformer, so I'm glad those parts can be condensed into one space when the team isn't combined.

I'm wondering how Bruticus is going to work. I'm guessing Onslought's cab will be the bot, then the trailer with the cannon will be the frame/base? Also curious how they'll handle his chest plate.

>Was she worth 70 bucks? I think she binned in price now
I mean, she's going for about as much as the average girlpla, so she probably won't get much cheaper - besides , a big chunk of that pricetag is because it's using the actual Transformers branding, so it was always going to cost more than a F.A.G. Materia or Architect. As for if she was worth it - well, I think so. It's not like she doesn't come with stuff - her gun, her Energeon axe, four faceplates, three different styles of bangs, and the detachable breastplate, plus a stand and those leg wheels that can fold down for more support Gourai-style. I just wish they hadn't bothered with the flesh-colored faceplates (which don't match any other part of her at all) and had given us two more robot face plates with more expressions (and maybe one with Prime's signature mouth shield).

I always fanoned it that since it was a big empty box, all of Motormaster's robot components shifted from the cab into the trailer and the cab was then able to condense into his feet. That was so he didn't have to be built as complicated as Prime who could shunt his trailer off somewhere, a more involved and elaborate design.

Got my Rathalos Prime! I know someone else had him last thread, but as someone who's been a Monster Hunter fan since MH Freedom way back when, I wanted to give my own review of him.
First thing's first, Rathalos mode. It's the form he's packed in, and the primary reason people would be getting him (nobody's buying him just to own another Optimus Prime). He's an Earthrise Airazor retool, which, as has been pointed out since he was revealed, really does do him a disservice - his beast head is comically tiny, and his tail is far too short and stumpy. On the other hand, though, he has some innovations that make him wear this mold better than any of the previous characters to use it - he takes a leaf out of Filch's book and uses wider, hollower shins so they can fold up much better against his chest, and his robot arms now tuck behind his back and up into the chest cavity behind his head, pulling his elbows inside and leaving only the robot shoulderpads sticking out. He also has pieces that peg into his hips that make them blend better with the rest of his red scales, so from the side, he no longer looks like he's just a dude squatting with his hands at his sides like Airazor, Terrorsaur and Filch did. His wings have decent articulation (his wing claws can't touch the ground, but in-game Rathalos actually just runs around like a chicken with his arms tucked into his sides anyway, so the range of motion here is actually accurate), and while you can't bend his poisonous tail forward, you can still do his well-known divebombing pose to an extent. I do wish that the joint that his head attaches to was another color (that weird grey is pretty distracting when his mouth is open), and that he had a blast effect port on his lower jaw so you could give him some fire breath (they were able to make it work with Crimsonflame, who's head is even narrower), but it is what it is.
Anonymous No.11545962 >>11545964 >>11545980 >>11545995

Robot mode. The transformation scheme is a little different from the previous uses of the mold, mostly due to the retooled backplate that holds the wings and head as well as because he has a whole new torso section. Contrary to the initial thought that the Rathalos head just 'hangs of the back' like Terrorsaur's, it actually just sticks straight up and pegs onto the back of the torso while the entire segment its attached to slides down, bringing the Rathalos wings to Prime's hips. The wings then fold around to the side to form the long side skirts of the Rathalos Tasset he's supposed to be wearing; the two silver pegs on the crotchplate are actually supposed to tab into the gaps in the wings to hold them in place, but doing so severely limits his leg articulation thanks to those weird folding panels on his shins (which exist only to hide the blue coloration there in Beast Mode and hang off the sides awkwardly in Robot Mode), but fortunately you can untab the wings and reposition them as needed.
His overall design takes heavy design cues from the Generation 2 version of the standard Rathalos Armor set, but also blends some of Optimus Prime's elements into the design - specifically the blue shins and the Rathalos Helm being painted and molded to look more like Prime. For weapons and accessories, he includes both components of the Axelion Blade, as well as a 'Matrix' that's really just a Rathalos Ruby that he can hold (with one hand - his wrists don't rotate, so you can't really get him to grip it with both hands). The ruby stores on a peg on the hinge that connects his back piece to the rest of him, rather than directly inside the chest.
Anonymous No.11545964 >>11545965
>>11545962
For those who haven't played a MH game, Rath Prime's weapon is NOT a Sword and Shield (the actual Rath SnS, Corona, looks very different from this), but a Charge Blade known as the Axelion Blade. Charge Blades are a transforming weapon that relies on charging special phials located in the shield portion of the weapon with elemental energy. This can be done manually by holding down a button or through using standard slashing attacks until the sword glows, then hitting a button combination to transfer the charge over to the shield itself to store it...
Anonymous No.11545965 >>11545966 >>11545980 >>11546603
>>11545964
...and once you have all phials completely full and an active charge on both your sword component and shield component, you can then combine the two into a very large axe called a Morph Blade to start dishing out real damage, using the Amped Elemental Discharge attack to release all that energy at once as a series of explosions that will usually send a monster flying while breaking or crippling a ton of parts all at once, with the explosions reaching high enough that they can usually knock flying enemies out of the air in the process. Of course, you can still change your CB over to Morph Blade Mode and swing it around without charging it to land some decent damage, but the real power comes from crippling enemies with all that stored energy.
Sadly, Rathalos Prime's Axelion is a little stumpy for an actual Charge Blade (the shield part should be much larger, and the sword part usually connects to a longer component that slides out of the shield and holds onto the blade itself, making the weapon in Morph Blade mode about as big as the Hunter), but it gets the point across. I'm just happy to see someone make a Charge Blade at all, since most Monster Hunter figures tend to stick to either the Greatsword, normal Sword and Shield, or Long Sword.
Also, Fatalis retool from TM2 Megatron when? (Never).

Lastly, some bonus pics - I've shown off my Soul of Chogokin G-Rank Silver Rathalos here before a few years back, but this seems like a good time to do a comparison; this would probably be more appropriate to do with the Silver Rathalos Prime repaint, but he's not releasing until November, and I don't own the red version of the Chogokin, so bear with me.
Anonymous No.11545967 >>11545969
>>11545966
The Chogokin tends to look a bit more accurate to the source material in both modes, though there are some elements that Rath Prime pulls off a bit better, particularly the weapons (the Chogokin's Sword and Shield aren't accurate to any version of Rathalos SnS in the franchise, nor is the Greatsword you can make by combining the bits). It also leaves the robot head hanging out between the wings in Beast Mode, and the Rathalos head becomes the left hand in Robot mode, plus the Rathalos wings (which have no real articulation) partsform to become the shield or Greatsword blade instead of being integrated into the design, so the transformation is far from perfect. Lastly, the Chogokin is made almost entirely of diecast metal, and it's become quite loose with age. I still love it, though, even though the pointy bits never fail to shred my hands whenever I handle it.

Final pic - Rath Prime with an actual Rathalos, specifically an Azure Rathalos. Rath Prime is a little pudgy compared to the real deal, and as stated, his head and tail are a bit small, but otherwise he's not a horrible representation. For those wondering about colors, the standard red Rathalos (what this version of Rath Prime is) tends to be a mid Low-Rank (easy) and/or early High-Rank (intermediate) monster in the series, Azure Rathalos is usually mid High-Rank, and Silver Rathalos (what both the upcoming repaint of Rathalos Prime and what my Chogokin are both supposed to represent) is G-Rank (extreme difficulty). other variants exist, but those are the main ones; there's also a female version of Rathalos known as a Rathian that also comes in multiple colors (standard Green, High-Rank Pink, and G-Rank Gold), so with another slight retool, it could theoretically be possible to milk this mold for a while; it might be cool to see a Pink Rathian Arcee at some point, though I doubt it'll happen.
Anyway, while he could be better, I still like him, and am always happy to see more Monster Hunter stuff in general. I'd be happy to see another TF x MH crossover in the future, and not just a repaint.

Barring minor deco complaints, no wrist swivel on a commander class is retarded when leader Blitzwing has it and folding hands. My biggest complaint though... where are the 5mm ports??? Ignoring the two hand 5mm ports on silverbolt and Superion, you have one in vehicle mode, 3 in superjet mode, and 4 in Superion mode. There's zero accessible back 5mm ports in robot mode to store the blaster. Huge missed opportunity in my opinion.

Shockwave > Megatron > Soundwave

>Shockwave
Perfect. No loose joints and the paint was brighter than promo pics showed off. Literally the best he's ever looked in CHUG.

>Megs
Floppy thigh joints. Could barely stand out of the box. Paint was immaculate though and I've yet to chip it.

>Soundwave
Only disappointing one of the bunch. His neck ball joint was slightly misshapen, causing his head to wobble even if the whole thing was transformed flush. They also painted over his light piping with a very dark red that sucks. I did end up getting the new G1 Universe SW for Buzzsaw and noticed the joints were tighter, so I traded my DCS copy off.

It's a good set if you don't have those specific bots already. And the fixes are easier to deal with than say a Hasbro botch.

Yeah his face QC is bad dude. I got one from Amazon and the side facet of his nose was unpainted and there was a splotch on his helmet and a chip on his nose. I just used a Gundam Marker to fix it, but still. Also his shins were 2 different surface finishes. One was gloss and one was matte. Doesn't bother me that much.

Then I bought a second copy because I had free Target-bux just to see the inconsistencies and the joints were much tighter and had like 2 paint chips in his shins. His eye had a chip on it too. Then I went to transform it and the little toe pieces that fold under just BARELY clear the ground and I don't know why because my first copy has no problem with clearance and the inside of the toe piece has a stress mark from not quite fitting in the spot it has to go despite no real reason why it doesn't fit over a long period of autistic comparisons.

Both my copies had this weird sprue-but-not-sprue marks on the left side of the top of his helmet. I feel like Vietnam probably cost these guys the Power Rangers franchise or at least contributed to the downfall, and it's happening increasingly in Transformers. It honestly makes me kind of worried where things are going. Some QC is getting better, but the bad QC is becoming alarmingly common so much that the fucking HasLab has to basically be recalled or replaced.

I dunno if it's just my autism or what, but I didn't have this issue with Transformers until like the last 7 years. In the 90s maybe one in every 30 figures had some glaring QC problem and I feel like EVERY figure I buy has some QC issue now.
Anonymous No.11548408 >>11548420
Ive been out hunting for Mixmaster and I have found several Megatrons. Every single one of them has the sprue mark on the top of his head and something wrong with the eyebrow paint. My copy has the worst forehead marring of any that I have seen which is very annoying. The factory worker who removed that mart slipped and cut a very small gouge in the front. I carefully sanded it but I can still just barely see it and it’s aggravating.

Yeah I forgot to mention the eyebrow part too. On my first one, the black liner that goes over his eyes was crookedly painted and it had that scarring too. Not as bad on the second copy. Honestly I would Frankenstein both of my copies to get the "perfect" one at this point but the leg that is ever so slightly warped on my second copy is much tighter on the mushroom peg than the one that's fine.

Might try a pin-punch on the capped pin on the loose-knee version and see if I can't tighten it by jamming it in more since most of these pins I don't see an easy way to get out.

Forgot to mention on my first copy, the ankles and feet are much looser. Not that they can't hold a pose, but they're more plyable. The second copy just feels so much more solid. Thing that sucks about it is that I don't want to drag his bot mode PAINTED toe pieces across stuff when I'm playing around with him. I don't think this shit is hard to paint match, but I shouldn't have to.

This guy here again

Well

Open him up, (sorry can't post any images because my current ip)

Thank God he only has minimal paint.
Besides the face nothing can get worst

The joints are ok. I would like them to be stronger but this would do. at least the legs are not flopping down in the lateral movement like megatronuis and SS Optimus

Though in terms of QC
Man literally every holes are filled with leftover junks. I probably have to spend an hour to removed all of them.

In terms of the look
Those shoulders are tiny.
It is not that bad if you look at it from other angles but going full frontal you can tell they are bit small. Ended up not getting the gamer Starscream because how thin the arms are.

I think the shoulders wouldn't be this bad if not for
>The feet

I think the MP stroke gold by having it feet slim
This Megatron looks like it got clown feet. It is really not a big deal considering the cartoon linerart was like that too but if they went for a slimmer feet, they would fit the smaller shoulders a lot better- like a compact fighter

As for the face

Yeah I can see the problem right now. The white is actually easily painted but the problem is because the paint is white so any heavy light that will only expose the grey plastic under the paint.

I also got lucky that all those minor scratches are too small to see.
But you can see the Indian dot on the head very clearly. Good thing that you can't see it usually because it is under the shadow of the helmet.

As for the eyebrow, they really should've stamp the thing on instead of paint.

Exactly why they switched to pins - to make it harder for you to fix QC issues yourself and force you to buy a replacement. It's ingenious, really: Hasbro gets to be as cheap and lazy as they want, but they still manage to make double the profits because you have to rebuy the item until you get lucky with the QC lottery. And, of course, if you try to save money by asking them to send you a replacement instead, they just use it as an opportunity to offload crap that's cluttering their warehouses, meaning they get rid of shit and you still end up paying out of pocket for what you actually wanted in the end.

Thankfully we don't suck that bad (today)
But I doubt it's a coincidence that that faggot OP used lego soundwave for an opening

Betting 50 bucks when all the lego threads are nuked that its gonna go with him, same file typing as other threads made by Frenchie aka all the other typical raid threads, pokefags are gonna have an abrupt wakeup too since the typical instashill leak was used as its op aka its him, so tiring

the website is calling it a kazoo, but the product packaging doesn't, and it has no visible membrane.
>trombone kazoo
huh, there's the membrane, so I guess that is real. but what would the slide actually do? Let me ... look into this...

Oh. It's just for show. just a silly form factor for the kazoo, but the trombone part does nothing

holy shit how cool would a platypusformer be..
well, actually that might be kind of rough. there's not a lot of good real estate on the body, and there's TWO wide flat items that can't really turn into any part of the robot without looking stupid. I guess the bill halves could become pauldrons, and the tail could fold into the back, leaving room for the torso to open up and empty out into limbs.
