Is this the real life, is this just heresy? edition

From the last thread on bad skitarii. The data tether ranger's backpack actually fits in the arquebus guy's back fine, and the backpack nubs look the same. So maybe it's the tether ranger's back hole is mismolded, too big or missing that bottom section of that D shape to hold it snug. Then the Alpha has a completely different backhole/peg shape but fits fine, though his backpack does not fit in the data tether ranger. So for whatever reason, my data tether ranger is the odd one out with a potentially prolapsed hole. Is the fix a matter of gap it up with bluetack or some manner of putty? Because shipping it all the way back to the land of coof just isnt feasible or worth it I'd imagine

David toys refunded my shipping expenses from my pre-order from March when they were doing a free UPS shipping promotion last month. If it gets here on the estimated time I'll continue giving them business. Total was $350 for me.

I just used Agrax Earthshade directly over the bare silver, nothing too fancy. I would say that my main issue with the JT Iron Warriors is that the base silver coat, aside from being too plain with no depth or anything, is very specifically too bright for the usual main base coat of that army. But, I'm saying that as someone who paints the miniatures, not the guy that does the budget for the action figures, so, I guess it's a wash. It looks like the main color for the IW is Ironbreaker, because it is a hair too dark for Leadbelcher, and several hairs too light for (the appropriately named) Iron Warriors. However, I appreciate your complimentary words.

I am going to say, because I've had too much gin and I forgot to add this point to my previous post; The Terminator's basecoat was Leadbelcher, because none of my LGSs had any Iron Warriors Base at the time.

I think my point with these two posts is don't listen to anything I say in terms of miniature or figure painting, as a general rule. And I apologize for the blogposts.

It seems like you let it pool too much. If you want to add dirt effects or grime, i’d recommend pigments, oils, or enamels over acrylic products, which might be better suited as a light filter (oils work fine for this too of course). Just be sure to seal them.

What's going on with the Joytoy. Look at his left shoulder pad. Unpainted part. Next, look at the official GW mini. They literally left the cloak sculpt, with cloth ridges and everything on what is supposed to be a bare shoulder pad.
Also, his right shoulder pad is going to be an ultimate pain in the ass, because that fat ass cloth part is going to interfere with it and likely not let it being flush with the body.

I haven't collected any Joytoy figures since the tariff shit started and all my preorders got canceled. I just came back to check on how the line was going months later, and they've barely released anything? What happened to them announcing something new every week? I remember being so disappointed because I wanted Iron Warriors so badly but between the tariffs and them switching to the retarded Space Marine 2 scale for everything I was glad to no longer be collecting.

Last time I checked, their new SM2 collab shit was selling out like crazy on taobao. People theorize that their lines got too fucking busy with Knights and Angron, as it likely was a huge pain in the ass to actually move them to production and ship thousands of them. Angron himself on that site had listed 2000+ sales by 3/14/2025, and it's just a low ballpark, considering unlisted global sales etc, it's crazy numbers for such expensive fig.
But some releases are not doing too hot. Like noticeably lower than some, especially their non-warhammer figs.

Haven't spent enough time with Angron yet to say, but he's definitely not play-friendly. Mine is thankfully pretty stiff except for 1 shoulder, so I haven't had problems balancing yet, but the wings are massive and heavy and I haven't cleared a spot to display him yet. He's going to be an incredible shelf-hog and unlike the Knight, his lower half and "feet" aren't as stable so I wouldnt trust him without the base and stand.

The IW sgt is actually really great though. I was surprised how good his arm articulation and how deep his butterfly joints go. He has no problem at all doing complex 2 handed sword poses.
