It's always confusing to some people because we name Friezas forms in the order they appear in the manga when in reality what we see is him "untransforming". His first form is his third power-suppresing transformation, and his final form is his base, original form. On the other hand, Cooler is already in his base form and transforms to be stronger instead of the opposite. Long story short, Cooler's transformation is a power up, not a surpresed form. It's akin to Golden Frieza or monster Zarbon. We don't even know if he can use power-reducing forms like his brother.

I think we were bless with TonsenArt/KamiOne and the BD Broly, we thought all 3p were on the up, but so far the OC Vegettos, RR&KW Cells and now this goku have fallen pretty flat.

One thing you have to realize that there was practically nothing going on with Dragon ball back from like, 2009, when the line started, through like 2014. Once BoG came out, then RoF, and then Super picked up, a hell of a lot more merch and figures started coming out.

When the DB Figuarts line started, there were 3 or 4 figures coming out a year, and that includes the one SDCC figure that came out a year. Look at the chart with all the figures from this line. The first row and the next 3 or 4 figures in the second row represents the first 5-ish years of the line. There were just zero options at all outside of those.

Also keep in mind that at one point, literally all of those figures settled in the $200-$300 range. Hell, I think that 2012 (or whatever) SDCC Super Saiyan Goku is still like a $1000 figure if its sealed.

My local walmart finally had LBS Goku.
Some might say that having 7, 9 if you count Bardock and Turles, is too many Gokus. But I say that it's not too many Gokus enough.

Not entirely true. If you were around in 2009 you'd remember when Dragonball Kai began airing on FujiTV adjacent to One Piece in a slot that became known as "Dream9". It was a big deal at the time with a lot of cross over merch as well as the shf line for about 2 years when due to poor ratings they shelved it at the end of the cell games and replaced it with Toriko in 2011.

The Dragonball Evolve line is pretty close to what the Shodo line once was. When the line first started, the only real issues are that paint could sometimes be hit or miss, and sometimes, some parts had weirdly excessive flash/extra plastic from the mold, but they weren't bad for like, $9 figures.

They've gone up to $11 or $12 now, but I feel like the quality has actually gone up a bit, because the paint is usually a lot better now, and the parts actually look like more care is taken in cleaning them up and assembling them.

I think they're pretty nice little figures as desk toys. They're actually leagues better than the Dragon Stars which are like twice the price, and have what feels like half the articulation.
