Impulse bought this guy on a whim. I already have I don't know how many of the 2.0 Goku body at this point, but something about the faces, and the fact that he has the turtle/kaioshin kanji combo just does it for me. My Target had like four of him, was kinda surprised. I thought they all dried up months ago, and I just never saw him because I wasn't looking hard enough. Makes me wish I could get the new Krillin but he's stuck in Hobby Genki limbo until the shipping situation is resolved.

They've been releasing the same number of figures sometimes even 2 a month with Shallot/Giblet and Guru/Krillin. If you look at the OP there's a new figure every month from October to March. I think it feels like nothing is coming because stuff like the daima figures or db legends figures "don't count" for a lot of people but they count to bandai. There's also "bonus" figures like the EE Gogeta and store exclusive UI Goku that aren't part of the schedule.

13 main releases this year, 7 being daima and 1 is a healing tank. The average person gets Games Begins Goku and maybe monster Zarbon or armor Vegeta this year. While the count is the same as past years there's way less stuff if you ignore daima. Could be the weakest year ever.

A lot of the Cell stuff is somewhat spoken for already anyway, or at least would be somewhat arbitrary updates. Even the new Goku is. The last Super Saiyan Goku more or less represents the same thing the Games Begin Goku does; it just sucks. Cell himself is the obvious major missing piece, and perhaps the Grade 2 forms for Vegeta and Trunks if Bandai are willing.

Gomah isn't a terrible figure, it is just way overpriced for what you get and his 'mini' form doesn't translate well to an articulated figure. Mini Vegeta on the other hand is an objectively awful release and easily one of the most disappointing releases, so should have used his picture instead.

That isn't entirely true as that Goku came with a solid amount of extras, one of which was an entire dragon it can ride on, and didn't feel like a low effort P-Bandai cash grab to the same extent Gomah did. Still a very small figure, but I think it came with enough to be fair for a limited edition release that likely had a smaller production run. Like we get an entire fucking dragon with V Jump Goku, but the best they could do for Gomah was throw some power pole accessories that should have just been included with either base mini Goku or SS mini Goku.
