Lego's mistake is putting the development costs into the product. Vidiyo was DOA due to double-priced sets, the new Poop-Noise Brick will fail for a similar reason. it will be too expensive, I can make my own poop noise for what they are charging for that little brick

Lego has never been more popular. The sets designed for kids still go hard. Check out some of the 10-30 friends, or creator. Plus, despite the wailing from fags, a lot of the licensed sets are decent.

They're failing with both. Problem is that the actual interesting sets are adult themed and thus cost a fortune. Kids would love to play with the daily bugle set or the new arkham asylum but who the fuck is gonna but their kid a $300 toy in this economy?

Son the kid sets that are cheaper are reduced to these garbage city themes, which are sometimes ok but boring from a kid's POV. There's Dreamzzzz but honestly that's a bit weird and I don't think kids are even going to know wtf that's all about. Really creator 3-in-1 sets are the most well rounded option atm.

And of course outside of that there's always licenseshit but with the whole IP thing kids might get one or two small cheap sets but never really build a collection, thus never actually getting into the hobby properly.

I continued with rebuilding my old sets from a box of mixed legos after a pause.

All the sets are missing a few pieces and it's triggering my ocd. Will have to order from bricklink once I catalogue everything that is missing.

The guy on land is missing his torso so I gave him a postman body. This and the darth Maul/Qui Gon lightsaber duel are the only star wars Lego I had.

Why do people keep comparing Lego and Playmobil? They're not the same thing.

Well, the smart brick will have electronic minifigs too which will solve the Mario problem. Designers back in 2020 said they wanted to make Mario electronic minifigs but couldn't make the tech work at that size. And all starter courses are retiring in June 2026 with all Mariokart stuff.
