I do like the Pete and am anticipating the rest but my main gripes are the elbows not having more range and lack of more hand options. Like pointing or emotive hands, that sort of thing. They should have just sacrificed a little bit in the arm sculpt for a generous gain in range. With them wearing jumpsuits it'd be easy to have it look like it was bunching up at the elbow pads.

Ray coming with Drool the Goblin dog legit made me happy. Best boy went down like a champ.

I had almost no interest in Ghash, and and I had to look him up because I couldn't even remember what he looked like or what episodes he was in, but the figure may be the second best looking one behind Boogeyman. I was kind of disappointed in Sandman, but I don't know what they could have done differently for him, but he basically ended up a traffic cone. And I missed the Peter/Sam Hain set.

Also Mondo's MOTU figures in the same scale are even more expensive. This is simply who Mondo is. This guy gets it. If you wanna bilk your customer base with Malibu Stacy with New Hat, there's a MASSIVE threshold as to what you can get away with. At $5 trinkets like figures used to be, it wasn't so bad. NECA does some of this with their $40 Ultimates to a fair degree. But when you're pulling this shit with $100+ figures, especially after conning your customers into thinking the previous 2 pack was the ONLY way to get Sam Hain, then there's a fucking problem.

NOW, as a customer, I'm already worrying how the other 3 big ghosts are going to get similar treatment. To assume this is a one-time thing is a huge assumption. I'd buy unhappy with this for $40 NECA ultimates, but I'm super pissed at $100+ figures.

Seriously, fuck Mondo for this shit. I will never again buy in to anything they do, just like I abandoned McFarlane for their chase bullshit. After I've received the total 4 2-packs I've already paid for, Mondo is completely dead to me. I'm a customer, not a paypiggy to be fleeced.

Mondo does these variant repaints all the time
it sucks but it is what it is. They said from the outset that they would probably find a way to do another version of the ghosts, just that they wouldn't be the same as the originals so they retained their exclusivity. You can be sure they'll find a way to rerelease all the ghostbusters and the other 3 ghosts too.

It's not Samhain getting a repaint that's the issue. It's that he includes shit the first release didn't have. For $100+ you expect a figure is gonna be the end all be all, best version you're ever gonna get, and then not even a year later "here's one that comes with ghosts!" Here's the basic crux of this situation:

IF they had simply taken Sam Hain, all his accessories, and simply redeco'ed them for a new release (like they've done with other items like their vinyls, etc), then it wouldn't be a big deal.

BUT, instead, they chosen to add in multiple new accessories and actual CORE ghosts (his two minions that I wanted from the start) and lock them behind a whole new purchase. I think this MIGHT actually be a new precedent for them.

I don't care if they redeco. I don't care if they misrepresent exclusivity. I do care about new essential pieces getting locked behind a whole new purchase at over $100 that includes the same figure I already have and certainly don't need another one of.

I want those minion ghosts. I want that new hand holding Slimer. I refuse to part with another $135 plus shipping plus tariff fees to do so. This is an absolute slap in the face to the fans that supported the first release. And if you do it once, I simply won't trust you not to do it again.

Hasbro is basically doing that. There was no Ecto-Glow Slimer, Stay-Puft, or Ecto-1 in the original line, and the Copter was never released. Wouldn't be surprised to see the unreleased Backpack Heroes follow.

Most of what they've done is just reissuing old figures. Nothing new. Even the GitD Slimer, Stay-Puft, and Ecto-1 are just old items with new plastic,

The only actual interesting "new" thing so far is the old helicopter that was initially supposed to be in the vintage Ecto Glow line that got cancelled that Hasbro recovered the schematics and stuff for an will now be making. If they end up pulling more cancelled prototypes or even just a fun wave of their own design that would be great.
