After a flood and selling bunch, I have condensed my collection a lot and I really like the set up. I wanted to see what you guts think and would love to see your displays of 40k stuff. I want to get into Joytoys, but they are very small by comparison to the Bandai and McFarlane.

This. Try to get something similar but covered with glass. Dusting big collection like that is a pain in the butt. Stuff being sealed reduces the dust accumulation tremendously.

Interesting that they're going for show accurate figures, Ill keep an eye on the finished product but space is a real issue for me. I probably shouldn't have dipped into the Transart MP scales but they were just too nice. Im still waiting on Depth Charge from them but apparently people have been mean on the internet about their figures and the whole series might get dropped.

Well I downsized me collection a lot. I used to own every Jojos thing. Like unironically probably 90% of their giant SAS line. It was too much. I needed cash for school. So I sold them all, all my pretty much the entire Jakks Sonic line, numerous MP Transformers, anything other than the core of whatever line I liked. And my PR stuff I would never sell because it just makes me happy and I told child me that one day I would own them all and none would be broken as all I ever had was a torn to shit Dragon Zord.

I was going for a minimalist kind of thing with all the series I collect. Do I need every Ultramarine type in all the colors of the rainbow? No. Just three. Do I need every Zoid from all the shows I watched as a kid. No Liger and BF is fine. Do I need all the MP TF, no Optimus is fine. Do I need EVERY person a Jojo has ever talked to? No Ill just sell everything and collect the BIG line.

IMO toys, unless specifically from a "this was my childhood and I want to remember the toy isle." or "I will resell this" perspective should be out and posed. Problem is, I have a smiggy of the tizzy, and everything has to be near to perfect for me. Those Jojos would have taken me months to actually be happy with. Posing a single figure takes hours. And even then, I repose and repose because they aren't perfect in my eyes. In fact those Ultra Marines have been bugging me for days. Saw a pic related as I was looking at the other Bandai figures and am stealing this pose from a Youtuber. I really need to learn "It's good enough, stop fucking with it."

I think the statue, vending machines, mahjong set, shiba, and some of the bottles were gacha but the rest is all cheap ass aliexpress stuff. I noticed some of their stuff is recast gachas though you could probably find it on ali too.

The Lovecraft stuff is mostly from an artist on Etsy, RumtucketTradingCo. He did the King in yellow, the Migo, the migo larva in amber, and the large Elder Thing. I talk to him on occasion and he's a great dude. I really wanted him to do a commissioned I Have no Mouth and I must Scream statue, but he sadly doesn't do small commissions. Strangely, no one has really done one as far as I know.

The Shub was a different artist on Etsy, DarkFantasySculpture. I liked his works a lot, but for the most part I wanted more toned down monsters. A good number of his statues are cool, but they are mainly just teeth and tentacles. I know there is no "offical design" for Lovecrafts monsters, but too often I feel renditions use tentacles and teeth as the easy route. The Elder Thing and Migo were both based on Lovecrafts hand drawn designs.

DarkFantasySculpture only has pic related he's currently selling and I don't know how well he is doing. Last I talked to him he told me things were hard as he is based in Mexico and his statues are now tariffed hard as it's considered drop shipping or something.

Oh and one cool thing about DarkFantasySculptures works is that they are made different. Somehow these sculptures are all some sort of bendable plastic. Nothing can break. I can drop that Shub and only the base would break off. I can bend every tendril and tooth 90 degrees and it will just spring back into place. No idea how he does it, but he need to patent it. Might be already a well known thing and companies just don't do it for some reason.

I ordered this on AliExpress and didn't expect to get it and the order just got cancelled, womp womp. Recommendations for like the exact same thing? I can't seem to find it, there's a bamboo one that's just a little shorter in width unfortunately but nah.

I joke with people about my Jojos stuff when they question who my favorite is. I say Giorno, but Joseph is everyone's favorite. It's like "What is your favorite condiment on a burger?" It's objectively ketchup, but it's everyone's favorite, so it doesn't say much.

Out of the lot, Cosmos is my favorite, but I always hated his two little exhausts. Something is just so satisfying about a perfect circle with Transformers.

I went with a combo of the Ikea MILSBO x3 and RUDSTA x1 along with that gigantic hardwood cabinet for the Beast Wars stuff that was left behind in the house when I bought it. Rudsta gives you a good chest height flat surface top and the cabinets are nice and solid with holes for running lighting wires.

In terms of preserving gold/brown plastic and the vacuum metallic the main thing is to avoid UV exposure to reduce the precipitation of plasticisers and the breakdown of surface bonds. Beast Wars toys tend to be pretty good in this regard generally, I haven't noticed a difference between the Takara Tomy and Hasbro toys, although most of mine are Takara Tomy.

You're pretty fucked unfortunately, once the peeling starts it'll all rapidly delaminate. The only think you can do really is mask as much of non metallic areas with something like silly putty and use a few layers of topcoat to try and reseal and stick the rest down a bit.

In that pic, I have Detolfs, but above the detolfs are black Baseball bat display cases. I got them from Michael's a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure they still sell them. As for the cases in that cubby area, they're just random acrylic cases I got from Amazon (picrel). I've had those white shelves for like 15 years. I think i got them from Ollie's during a sale.

My current collection of stuff, I need to get some new units with less empty space at the top.
