Warhammer
Other people are too lazy, so I have to make a new thread yet again - edition

>waiting for chink holidays to be over and new announcements
which is probably why people are waiting with making a new thread, but we could post our boys in the meantime!

Apparently, even chinese community was pissed about low shoulders on new Deathwing termies, that they pretty much crashed the stream, and show host had to do damage control live and at the end said something along "I have to take vacation after this". It was really hostile.
Pre-stream there also was a prototype leak with correct pauldrons placement, which stoked fires even more, and JT passive-aggressively addressed shoulders post-stream with them demonstrating how far pauldrons/shoulders joints can go (in extreme cases)
So JT currently has a choice of eating shit by releasing DW termies as is, or eat shit and quickly remodel figures that were basically ready to go, if not already in production lines. They apparently promised to correct them, if not for current DW termie release, definitely for the future ones. Chinese fans also started going after other figures, like upcoming SoH Praetor Terminator.

Fun times.

Been a couple of years since my last purchase, but I'm seeing them do a lot of reissues lately. Did they at least update the hands with all these rereleases? I remember them being quite small and not being able to hold weapons well. That was literally my only complaint of the line, everything else was perfect.

Got the UM Dreadnought in for Β£60(!). He's fucking awesome. I never would have thought a toy of this design could be so fun- that's not me dissing the Castraferrum, but it is not the easiest to articulate.

Here he is as the centrepiece of my Imperial shelf. Not sure if I'll get any more Ultramarines- maybe one of the older, smaller Terminators, but I think I'm OK for Imperial figures for the most part.

I've got the Grey Knight version, and I was shocked as well. You can do a very reasonable superhero landing pose, and its well balanced enough that you can pose him on one leg about to punt chaos fucking shits

Oh neat! I generally wouldn't use that joint anyway (my 'tism dictates that the elevation and depression on the tabletop model is the only "canonical" articulation on an actual Castraferrum's main gun) but still, nice they included it!

Likely some chink had a bright idea after seeing 3D model and fucked up shoulder joint placement and where they are positioned relative to the neck/head.

Which are Gen 4.0? Apparently that’s the scale standard going forward.
Anonymous No.11590458 >>11590478
>>11590429
The legion praetors are already pretty big in their own right so you shouldn't be worrying about the scale unless you're army building the regular space marines.

>>11590458
Thanks. Is there a list of which figures are which gen?
Anonymous No.11590525
>>11590478
Nope. If I'm not wrong, and gen 4.0 bodies are the SM2 scale, then the first ones of that gen very obviously the very first wave of Titus and Co (non-CE ver)
Joytoy still maintains that SM2 collab is a completely separate line with its own unique scale and such, so it's kinda murky territory. But gen 4.0 body advancements still ended up seeping on regular lines, like articulated shoulderpad joints (it was soft loop before) and increased scale (manly legs).
Khorne Berserkers still using old shoulder loop, but their bodies scale up well with Titus, they are huge. Chaos Chosen were the first(?) outside the collab to use new shoulderpad joints, and their bodies also are pretty much gen 4.0 scale. After them, every release uses these gen 4.0 shoulderpad joints.
But some of the newest figures, like Iron Warriors Mk3 and new Blood Angels Primaris (Captain, Sanguinary Priest, Sanguinary Guard) dudes shrunk back to v3.0 body size.

It's a fucking mess.

Anonymous No.11590715 >>11590951
And yes he's hard to pose, but not nearly as nightmarish as I've heard around the internet. Managed to have him balanced under his own weight quite a bit before I even used the stand.
Think the trick is going to be not moving his legs and wings too much to keep 'em stiff in order to keep decent poseability without support
