Why the fuck does target put superfluous non manufacturer street dates on some items? Why is target so retarded?

They're doing the same thing with some Star Wars TVC figures right now that are all repacks of previously released figures. Two that are like 15 years old and one that you can still buy on Amazon right now from when it was released the first time a few years ago. It's gaytarded.

What is the logic behind putting pointless street dates on items for no reason? Im also going to try and find the mcfarlane scarecrow thats been spotted at some targets lately then too but im also gonna look for him today as well because i dont think thats street dated. Walmarts stopped long before the coof. Krogers also stopped, but they stay til the AM hours. The only things that are 24 are 7-11's, gas stations, and outskirt truck stops

One walmart near me was still 24 hours right up until the lockdown. I vividly remember going there at 2 in the morning in February 2020 and getting the last wave of rise of the tmnt figure their with the shredder figure. That was the last time i went their that late before the lockdown.

OP here, i managed to get the jurassic park set i wanted today as well as a star wars figure that were both street dated for today but i had to ask for them from the back using their respective barcodes because they werent out on shelves yet

I asked them once why they stopped being 24 hours and from what i hear its to counter theft cuz at the late hours people would steal alot. Still pisses me off because i miss going to walmart late at night and everything closes too early in this post covid dystopia world we live in
