Something so stupid-expensive that only scalpers will enjoy. IF Lego gave a shit about the economy, then they would have gone "modular" and sold it as separate lower-priced sections people can collect to complete the whole.

Crossover between Three-body problem and Onions Wars. The tri solarians detonate a dimensional weapon and turned the death star into the barely alive puck.

In all seriousness, my problem with these sets is that they're all just so ugly. Who the fuck cares about the ship from The Mandalorian as a display piece? It's drab, uninteresting, boring.

This set is just 90% gray, the only neat thin in it is the emperor's shuttle which has already been done a million times.

Who the fuck cares about these honestly?

I saw it at the mall and yeah it’s about as tall as a kickdrum very impressive in person still weird the officers don’t have black boots & C3-P0 is lacking his silver foot & leg printing like why cut corners on something this expensive?

this set would had been more honest and better recieved if it was named "Famous Death Star Scenes" instead

Agreed about the mando ship. I really like the design of the UCS razorcrest and always love it when those big sets have nice interiors too. But I don't like the decision to just use all light gray. It's supposed to be a shiny gunmetal, not a matte gray. So it just ends up looking like a non-distinct pile of gray.

It's definitely weird that they gave it UCS branding. All the UCS sets have focused on exterior display. If anything it should have been labeled with either diorama or master builder series branding. But I guess they falsely branded it because they wanted the 'prestige' (and money) of a UCS
Anonymous No.11587921 [Report] >>11588082
>>11587896
The previous Death Star sets were all USC, and they were focused on the interior and were playsets and not display pieces.

Cloud City and "recreated from memory"-Hoth disagree
Anonymous No.11587947 [Report]
>>11587940
at least they have the benefit of being a playset based on the scenes at the Cloud City. also the more recent one is named "Betrayal at Cloud City" which makes it a set focused on that specific scene .

Cloud city was MBS. You're technically correct on hoth and the OG death star, but I chalk that up to them coming out before MBS was a thing.

For the other 99% of cases, UCS was about making detailed large scale models (mainly of ships) with a focus on display rather than play. Not being deluxe sized playsets

I think if I liked Lego or Star Wars, I would have to hate myself for buying that, there are better Lego sets for the same money, and better executions of Star Wars dioramas using figures and cardboard

it's the Lego version of the Xmas Car ads.

most people look at those ads and scream at the TV wondering how the heck do you get a 16 year old a brand new car

Lego has sets available for all range of customers, even the ones who can buy cars as gifts.
