Have you been taking good care of your Gaiatchi? You signed the pledge in the manual, didn't you?

I went to the pop up event today, the line was horribly long and all I grabbed was the sea Tamagotchi Paradise and the transforming kuchipatchi plush.

I started paradise and it does feel more expansive than the original and nanos I played with.

Just glad to finally see a color screen on these things and not costing absurd prices.

The Paradise has a very nice feeling, and it seems to fut into my busy adult life very well. I almost wish there was a bit more consequence to it.

Batteries finally died on my Paradise, so I think I'm going to leave it be.
I can see myself going back to it eventually but I think I got my fill completing the entire Land library. I'll probably stick with the Connections and Pix, but I do appreciate them backpedaling on the things I didn't like at all about the Smart and Uni. Gives me hope for the 30th-- Tamagotchi's anniversaries tend to deliver content and roster-wise.

Went to my town's local Tamagotchi and v-pet club meet today. It was more or less what I expected, pretty laid back overall. The people there seemed nice, but it was just a few of us. Does anyone else attend in-person v-pet clubs?

Apparently not all of the regular members showed up that day, so I didn't get to see the full spectrum. The ones that were there seemed to be typical tiktok candy/pasteIcore types. Not my favourite type of people to have to interact with, but they were nice enough. They seem to be toy collectors as well, two of them made plans to hunt at the nearby Walmart after the club meeting The club has a little raffle by donation they do at the end of the meeting for tamagotchi related merch, so that's a nice incentive to show up again. I was surprised too that irl clubs/meets exist. If you're in/near a larger city there's a good chance there's one.

The shell on the Paradise feels weird. Kinda oily/greasy, but not very much so. It's also surprisingly light but I guess there's not much internal stuff in it. Also the dial feels surprisingly cheap to me, kind of loose and rattly, but most people say it's fine. I've had gemtchi for a week now and it doesn't seem their hunger/happiness deplete faster over time like they do for adults on older models. So I guess the challenge is over when you reach adult stage. Meh, it's cute and some of the minigames are fun enough for what they are.

I know what you mean. I think the Paradise's case is treated with some kind of slick coating to help prevent dirt buildup or something. I also figure it can be from my own hand oils so I always wipe the thing down with my shirt. Out of the box the knob definitely felt really cheap, the amount of play it has feels weird at first but I got used to it pretty quick. I guess it's pretty robust? Apparently you can just pull the knob out and put different ones in. Don't try it at home unless you know for sure. The one thing I don't like is how easy the big clear plastic screen cover gets scratched. I have nasty scratches just from it sharing a pocket with my headphone case in my jacket pocket. I hope I can find some replacements soon

Don't you think they'll release a version that replaces land and one that replaces ocean fields? Shame they can't be backwards compatible for connection/breeding purposes.
Anonymous No.11591041 [Report] >>11591484

Ever since the Smart, Bandai seems really fond of banking on mascot characters like Mametchi, Mimitchi, Kuchipatchi (Sky), Sebiretchi (who's been used since the Pix as a female Kuchipatchi counterpart), Furawatchi and Pochitchi, so gutting Land means moving four of those characters (plus Meowtchi, likely, considering Horhotchi got moved) to another biome like they did with Kuchipatchi rather than simply.
I could imagine down the line we'd get ones that replace Ocean or even Land, but they probably started with replacing Sky because it's the most inconsequential/"filler" roster-wise, whereas with Land you'd either have to ditch all the mascot charas entirely or squeeze them into whatever new biome, resulting in far less newcomers. I'm more inclined to think Bandai wouldn't ditch the Land cast, since they've been banking on nostalgia and using the same few characters lately.

it smells like bandai is trying to keep digimon mostly as a premium bandai brand. i also suspect that they produced too many dm20s because they're still on amazon for cheap. Really it seems like every vpet bandai has been producing is a limited run. Like they'll do maximum 3 runs of one product before moving on to the next thing, to the detriment of enthusiasts and the benefit of scalpers.

>Akai
Same functionality as the Keitai, but spriteswapped to fit the red theming. The closest to the Connection 2024 remake. You can play this knowing little to no Japanese, so it's pretty accessible, and the battery life is the best in the franchise, lasting months to even a year depending on how active your playstyle is, much better than the remake's battery life. The roster is smaller than Connection 2024, having 8 normal adults instead of the 30 there, but the selection's much more curated with the animations/exclusive items being more polished looking. Arguably the best entry for classic-style Connection gameplay.
>Entama (Jinsei)
Lots of text, so basic Japanese knowledge is required. I highly recommend getting the CYOI version since the minigame selection is better/less grindy. Gameplay styling is much different, focusing on skill points for evos and the job system with care taking a back seat. Tonally, it is much more slice-of-life oriented to parallel the Tamagotchi Town worldbuilding the series had at the time with things like Corner Shop, and growths are slower, taking twice as long as usual Connections. Sizeable roster with 21 adults and an entire family grouping for everyone. A good entry if you want something different from the usual things.

Personally, I'm a big fan of classic Tamagotchi-style gameplay so I prefer the Keitai/Akai (its overall popularity is also why Bandai chose to remake the V3 with Keitai's elements), but the Entama's pretty nice too, and it's a shame its elements haven't been carried over to future entries.

What about the items? My first tama was the v4 back in the day so i'm partial to the complexity of the entama. I also like that the genetics in the entama are a bit more predictable than the v4's utter madness. The hard part is finding an entama at a good price.

I don't understand poop on the Paradise and it's driving me crazy. I look around the active field - no poop. But I get suspicious because it's been a while and clean the fields anyway. No poop appears during the animation yet five turds fall into the rocket at the end. Is it simply time based? Do the number of released "wild" tamas affect the poop accumulation rate?

I've read that there are two kinds of tama stars. You get a star for neglecting the thing to death, of course. Your tama in that star will look very sad. However, I have heard if you take good care of the adult tama for 30+ days it will die naturally and give you a tama star where it looks happy. I haven't tried this out myself, yet

Items for both entries are a bit more limited compared to Western-style Connections. In the Keitai, children and teenagers gain access to generic-use items like Balloons and the Jump Rope, while adults each have a set of exclusive items which they'll use to play special animation sets as occasional idle animations. To contrast, the Entama has more "practical" items which don't have special animations tied to them like the Keitai and Western Connections, but will do more useful things like raise skill points or be used for cooking, which can then be used to get special foods to further raise skill points.
This guy's guides have a list of the items in both entries:

In general, this person's guides are a good resource for the Plus/Connection era.

Ok so follow up question, there's an issue I'm having, the problem is that the US speaker is too close to the edge so it bumps into the edge of the JP shell's back. Can I safely move the US speaker or is there some safe way to shave off the plastic from the JP shell's interior to allow the mounted piezo speaker to not get stuck on the edge of the shell?

Can I also talk about non-V-Pet Digimon here? Digimon and Tamagotchi are two sides of the same coin anyway.

So I wonder if there are people who own most of the Digi Xros Figure Series from the Japanese Xros Wars line and at least Shoutmon from the US Fusion line. You get a good Shoutmon and Star Sword from the US figure (pretty articulate compared to the stubby combining figure from the Japan line), but you get lots more variety with the Japanese line and a good Shoutmon Mic from the Shoutmon and Starmons Set. In fact, I wonder if you can display US Shoutmon with the JP Mic without breaking Shoutmon's separated fingers since it's too obvious you can fit the US Star Sword with the JP X4.
