The next figure to be freed up from the dreambox set is Mechagodzilla 1974 with him being released as soon as tomorrow in Japan. It appears he remains mostly the same as his boxed counterpart with Anguirus and Kamacarus given slightly different paintjobs. King Ghidorah and Gabera's solo releases remain unknown.

Haven't poked my head in here in, like, a year now, so no idea if people have talked about him since he released, but I finally freed my Godzilla Vs Kong Mecha Godzilla (Final Battle Version) from Private Warehouse hell. I like him quite a bit - lots of neat little bits, fold-out missile launchers I wasn't aware he had, and that awesome heat ray effect that wasn't included with the original version of this guy - plus some nice red accents that weren't on the first version. I remember that there was some discussion when he was announced about people being upset that he didn't come with a second 'mouth closed' head, given every promo shot we saw of him had his mouth open; now that I have him in-hand, I was pleased to see that the reason he only has one head is because he's got an articulated jaw, so all the fuss was over nothing.
Part inventory is: two pairs of hands (one set open, one set closed), six back thrusters, six booster effect pieces for the thrusters, two energy 'punch' effects, an alternate tail tip, his heat ray effect, and a stand for the heat ray.

I've been trying to sell my Shin Godzilla Awakening X-plus for like a year now at increasingly low prices, now even just at $230 + shipping and whatever listing fees are, so I'm actually losing money compared to what I paid for it/shipping on, and I still can't get buyers on ebay, discord groups, facebook groups, etc

Is it normal to wait months and months for shit to sell even if you're listing it for hundreds of dollars cheaper then other listings?

People are fucking broke. Higher end Godzilla shit is a niche of an already niche market. If you really need to sell then take it to some local shop and sell it for whatever cash you can get and be done with it. Any money lost is what you paid to rent and display that piece for however long you did. You probably got that much enjoyment out of it anyway and the local shop gets to make some money and stay in business so you have somewhere you can still get cash if you need it.

Nickle and diming a hobby is no way to live.

I have been looking at comparing SHMA, Hiya, NECA and Super7's 89-95 Heisei Godzilla's. No company has all done the same Heisei Godzilla's, but when Hiyas does their BurningGoji/DesuGoji they will all have done that one.

I am looking at their sculpt, paint, price, articulation, packaging, scale and accessories. I am mostly looking at the "basic" figure here. They all seem to have their good parts and their bad parts so in the end it all comes down to personal preferences.

Spray it with matte clear coat. For a less permanent solution you can wash it in dawn dish soap, dry it and then AFTER YOU POSE IT dust it with black or dark grey chalk dust then carefully touching just the feet or something put it on the shelf.

But I suppose that Burning Godzilla and probable repaint from Hiya is going to be next year or possibly the year after that. I did a paint over to kinda see what the repaint might end up looking like

Weird order yes, random selection? Kinda. I mean they have Showa, Heisei, Millenium and Reiwa and they probably went with what is popular. By that standard the only outlier is GMK, unless we count having two Reiwas Gojis. But yeah, they do not seem to follow a pattern with how they are placed, not clockwise, size or "importance", probably just based on someones preference. I would personally sub out GMK for FW or any other Millenium Goji. Not a huge a huge fan of GMK's design. I mean it's cool but yeah.

But let's have a little fun with this. If you had a Gozilla statue and you had to put 5 different Godzillas in it. Which ones would it be? This is an open question to everyone.

I think there's really too many important eras and distinct identities for the franchise to be represented by 5 picks, it needs to be at least 7. Shodai - any later showa rep, Megalon suit would be my pick - Burning - 2000 just because it's more generally representative of the time than gmk - Shin - Minus one - 2014 or kotm design off to the side.

MMS stuff dropping like wildfire before Monday it would seem. First thing is a reissue of the 2019 Burning Godzilla with a new mold color/paint scheme more accurate to the movie. This is going to be a NON exclusive release and will be widely available. This I think is the first semi translucent figure to be be non exclusive since 1995 Burning Godzilla back in 2001 with the initial MMS launch.

Second thing is a semi new release with think new molds. And that being the twin Mothra larva's from Tokyo SoS. The female was released before back couple of years ago using the original mold used for the 8 inch line back in 2003, but think both of them here are completely new molds.

Dreidelwood has never and will never make a good Godzilla movie. Whatever it is I get from Godzilla movies only Toho projects have satisfied me. New Empire is the first movie with Godzilla in the title that I will never see. I have no plans to watch any of their future projects. I would love to be proven wrong and have them actually release something good. I don't think it's possible.

"Kong focus" is not a problem in the MV, the problem is that none of the other non-Goji kaiju get the amount of spotlight Kong does, so it just seems like Kong gets too much.

Mothra, Rodan, etc should be used as much and get their own projects too, if so then it wouldn't feel kong centric.

That's what my problem with Super 7's figures is: they ARE stylized, but not enough. If they were all super unique or stylized (like 2000 C was) then that novelty could kind of justify Monsterarts-tier pricing, even if the figures articulate like ass.
The problem is that they all have this vague stylization that attempts to set them apart but doesn't go far enough and makes them look cheap while they cost a premium. I mean, does the Shin and Kiryu look fundamentally different than other offerings outside of looking like it should be 20$ with antiquated articulation?
