A lot of the X-Men 97 fits in just fine with your comic stuff. There are a few that stick out, Morph and Logan because of their jackets, Cable a bit because of the lack of detailing on his pouches, but a lot of them really fit in just fine. If you're good with him being fuck huge, I'd say go for it, the new Poccy looks really good.

>It's GREAT looking

Why does anyone describe a render as looking great as if it has bearing on the final product? A render tells you almost nothing about how good the final figure will look.

They could miscolor all the plastics, screw up the finishes by mixing them improperly, have a totally different headsculpt, have barely any nonessential paint, even have pins like the 97 sentinel.

All a render tells you is that you will get a vaguely Apocalypse shaped figure with specific accessories.

You cannot judge something based on a render.

Honestly, if they're going to start putting out figures of the same quality as the Born Again figures, then I'd be alright paying $30. Both figures are really good articulation wise, have good paint apps, only downside is that Frank is missing a rifle, although rewatching his scenes from the show, he only ever uses a pistol, his knife, and the hatchet, so I guess it's accurate. Still, they should've included one.

But for real, if we start getting figures with the articulation that we got from the new Frank and Matt, and I'll pay $30 no problem.
Anonymous No.11601190 >>11601228
>>11601141
The Born Again Frank copies Mcfarlane style (of all things) pseudobutterfly joints and ballpeg at the chest, although the head/neck articulation is nice. From what I'm seeing there's nothing exceptional that warrants $30 though.
Anonymous No.11601228 >>11601262
>>11601190
The shoulders are similar to McFarlane yes, but imports have been doing those style shoulders for years before Todd did so it's kind of a moot point. The Born Again figures definitely feel a step above normal Legends imo. Just ad a ball waist and you'd be pretty much golden.

Not that anon, but the original x-men that started in 1963 (cyke, jean, bobby, hank, warren) went on hiatus for 5 years (70-75) and when it came back in giant size it featured a new team which included wolverine in his original tiger stipe costume. Wolverine didn't get his brown suit until #139 in 1980 and we didn't really see the old tigerstripe again until jim Lee brought it back in the 90's (just prior to TAS, which was what all those designs were based off).
Anonymous No.11602269
>>11602186
Yeah, he originally wore the Tiger Stripe costume with the whiskers during his first appearance when he fought the Hulk. Then when he returned for Giant Sized X-Men #1 Dave Cockrum ended up drawing the mask the way we see it today because he copied Gil Kane, who fucked up the original whisker design when he drew the cover, and it just stuck. He wore that iteration of the costume until John Byrne swapped it in UXM #139 again, just because he felt like giving Wolverine a new costume. He wore that again until Jim Lee swapped him back to a slightly updated version of the Tiger Stripe in the 90s which he wore until the black leather look from New X-Men before swapping to the Astonishing costume and wearing variations of that suit through the rest of the 2000s and 2010s until he died and was brought back to life.

The figure in >>11601638 is actually more accurate to Giant Sized X-Men #1 than any other version of the Tiger Stripe costume that Hasbro, and any other company put out. This one is from the 80th anniversary 2 pack with the Hulk but head swapped with the Love Triangle 3 pack head. It uses the thinner shoulder pads and just a standard belt, whereas every other version that is out has the X styled belt and wider shoulder pads that Jim Lee used in the 90s.

Southwest reporting in. Haven't seen anything at my local Ross, but I'm thinking of hitting up the one in the mall to see if they have anything.

Honestly, they need a more articulated petite female body for her than the stuff we have. The Black Widow mold just doesn't fit Mayday imo. But yes, it's an absolute travesty that they haven't done right by her yet.

Got the basketball set in, and it is so mediocre, I'm almost disappointed I got it. The Starting lineup figure is pretty bad, I can see why the line failed, other than the fact that I don't think there are as many sports fans in the action figure collecting world as some of these companies like to think. It is especially lame that the basketball is glued to Gambit's hand. Would've been nice to have the ball itself as an accessory. Oh well I guess. Way overpriced for what it is, I almost regret getting it. Almost...

Until I did this. Holy shit. This makes the set worth it imo. This Rogue is a perfect representation of the animated look. I'm sure it would look just as good on the Retro Rogue body, but I don't have that, and I don't feel like digging my Juggernaut wave one out of whatever bin she's stored in. Very happy with how this looks. Keep an eye out, I can see this set hitting discount eventually, might be worth it to grab it for a cheaper price just to get the best ML Rogue head we've gotten.

Lol at retards paying for a 2 pack for just a headsculpt. I’m just chilling here waiting for the SHFiguarts gamerverse version that will be the complete package (headsculpt, proportions, articulation, accessories). So glad I’m not an impulsive, pathetic, weak minded individual.

To be fair, I didn't buy it for the head sculpt alone. I pre ordered it because I kind of wanted the set but ended up forgetting about it and it shipped before I could cancel. The Starting Lineup figure is pretty bad imo. Rogue isn't terrible, but I didn't need her for my collection. At least the head sculpt is good enough to at least somewhat justify my fuckup.

Just goes to show you that there people don't actually collect the toys they glaze up. SHFs are the Marvel Legends of the import world. Anyone who's been collecting imports knows this. I see people complaining about Mafex reusing molds, when they only do so for repaints, but Bandai will literally release the same Goku figure for a decade with new heads.

Everyone who's gassing up the SHF Gamerverse line doesn't collect imports. I say this as someone with two detolfs crammed with DBZ SHFs. I like the line, but I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade.

SHFs also average about $65 for your standard release. And no, I don't count them rereleasing the SRoE Goku mold for the umpteenth time at Target for $35. They only do that to rope you in and get you to pay $80 a figure from P-Bandai to complete your Ginyu Force. The fact that they do so many P-Bandai releases now makes them worse than Hasbro in my opinion.
