Some like Stratos have gotten figures in all 4 main categories. Some like Whiplash didn't get a minicomic figure. Some like Roboto didn't get a CC figure. Some will only get a vintage figure. He-man and Skeletor are probably up to 18 versions by now, but the main characters are statistical outliers.
I also wasn't counting crossover shit.

Gwildor was always disappointing. Now he'll have poor articulation and most of his parts wont work for swaps.

Blade is simple enough with some parts reuse.

And Saurod will disappoint gimmick fans with Khan treatment.

I think they're more likely to do a mix of what CC and Masterverse are doing.
Release 1987 as a subline like MV, but it's the MAIN subline that takes over retail like CC.
Then they'll release He-Man, Skeletor, God Skeletor,Teela, Evil-lyn, Beast Man, Man-At-Arms and Sorceress. Gwildor will get put in a two pack with "Battle Damage He-Man" from the final fight. Blade will be in the final retail wave. Then it'll get pulled for a new refresh without Saurod but they'll tell us "but don't worry, were not done with 1987 yet :)" which will be corpo speak for "Saurod will come out on MC in two years from now"

SBS doesn't have THAT many known main cast variants to sustain a long term side line, and I think we all know it's not gonna dig into the OCs in any meaningful way, so it'll probably be over in a year or so and they can put out 1987 then while more cartoon collection takes the main retail line and everything else fights for space on MC

Decided I'll share some photos I took. Had to put her on a stand, I don't know if it's just how she was packed over the years warping the legs, or the natural way they are, but she cannot stand for long periods of time. I've tweaked her stance and put her on a solid surface and eventually she just topples. I appreciate the Four Horsemen sculpting the figures into really intersting, dynamic poses, but the way they did the legs really fucks the centre of gravity.
That said, she looks awesome and a surprising side-effect her cape being creased by storage, it constantly looks like it's billowing.

Here is a shot of the staining on the back of the skirt. I've tried using isopropyl alcohol to remove the stain, but no luck. There is also some mild staining to the hair as well. Fortunately the staining is not easily visible most of the time.

The story from Mattel is that He-Man had such a large female fanbase that they decided to create She-Ra to try and capitalise on it. Depending on who you ask, She-Ra killed MOTU the first time because boys thought it was lame now that their little sisters were playing with the figures. Though most likely She-Ra just came about right as the franchise was already falling out of popularity.

You know what I never got about 200X? How Castle Grayskull wasn't renowned legendary center of the universe and Skeletor's lifelong obsession, it was Power of Elders that mattered and characters realized it lies in Grayskull only at the start of the series. So everyone assumes that huge stone fortress with a skull is just some ruin, no one pays attention to it and no kids (despite having flying vehicles) ever went to play in it. Weird.

It's worth noting these guys came about because Italy adored Micronauts. As MEGO went under, Gigi kept their portion of the property going for years. The Fantanauti are effectively the culmination of a decade worth of Italy's biggest toy fads coming together as one (Micronauts, Nagai super robots, and MOTU).

Do anons have a preference for He-Man's chest logo? Do you like one of the newer versions or are you a die-hard iron cross fan? Do you like them all basically the same or is there are a specific ranking?

Personally I really like the fused H/M that they introduced with the Battle Armor. I just think it makes for a great logo/symbol. I also really like the 2021 CGI series version that uses the H and M to make a sword. I think that's really clever. I don't like the 200X symbol, it just looks like they went as far as "it needs to not look like the Iron Cross anymore" and stopped putting effort in after that (yet still basically put the Iron Cross on his belt."

The sword has a clever idea. However it still fails because the idea doesn't follow into a nice looking logo. The gray stuff makes it look to heavy and make its look different from the others. But if you take that shit away it just looks like a sword. I like the concept but end product is boring.

It comes down to which version of his origin we're dealing with. In the original mini-comic the harness was not designed specifically for him, it was just something the Green Goddess had lying around and gifted it to him. He-Man just looks like that all the time even without the harness, but the Filmation origin, the harness and all is specifically his. Though I admit one could make an argument that he is just wearing the attire of "defender of Grayskull" and anyone wielding the power would have that outfit. But then you could also make the argument that anything tied to Grayskull should also have the cross.

Really it's all just a byproduct of designing the characters and then figuring out the lore.

The Iron Cross is a European military award (originally given to people who fought against Napoleon) derived from the Templar Cross/cross pattée. I can't find anything concrete as to why it was added to He-Man specifically, but most likely it was added because it has a European history of strength and also by the 80s it had been adopted as a counter-culture symbol of rebellion in both biker and heavy metal groups. So Mark Taylor probably just thought it looked cool.

The Iron Cross itself was adopted by the Nazis during WW2 (adding in the Swastika) so it does have a vague connection to that, but it's not recognised specifically as a Nazi symbol unless it has the Swastika attached, but there is probably enough people out there that looked at it side-ways that Mattel thought it was probably a good idea to phase it out and replace it with the HM logo on Battle Armor and Flying Fists and also try to push something more easily trade-marked. Now days most people aren't even really that aware of the Iron Cross' history or tenuous Nazi connotations so Mattel probably doesn't give much of a shit.

Good news, but bad news for vintage origins collectors. We wont see Two-Bad for another 5 years as they continue pumping out OCs for the vintage line and sprinkling the last few og figures here and there to prop up hope. I'm just hoping they go all out with Origins '87 movie figures like they been doing for Masterverse. Street Shark collab is inevitable at this point and the first DC figs mattel offers is definitely going to be origins buck since it's considered basic kid friendly style.
