I never liked the friction extenders. They were so tight that the limb they were connected to would come off instead of move. I imagine it's even more frustrating for a kid, who doesn't just pose it's toys but actually plays with them. I used a soldering iron to melt some of the rubber off and now they are much better.

I just went through my bin of childhood pieces and played around connecting things until I got something I liked to go off of. I centered it around the hockey torso initially so that helped get the ball rolling. Otherwise I'd say browse MOCs and sets and borrow techniques you like.

Shit like KingSidorak’s website is doing bad stuff to me, but I think making a dark hunter with a yellow/red color scheme and using parts like the rocket would be a good idea, personally so far making an unwise color combo with dark green and red with the toa to go with the mask snd wings but I think I can definitely pick better (I really like dark green for some reason)
For the Vehicle color I wanna do some blues and black (plus gray), that would be the greatest variety for color usage for me

Technic, Axle Connector Perpendicular 2 x 5 Bent.
Black Technic, Axle 8L with Stop.

Make a wanted list on bricklink, itll allow you to order everything from (hopefully) 1 store. Get more parts than you think you'll need. Always order some extra axles, pins and axle pins (remember: grey for spinning and black/blue for friction).
Maybe get some piraka/inika armour bits.
A few masks if you want.

I dont think a new reboot would even work, since most of the people who cared about bionicle grew up, and have families and real lives. Technic and CCBS are both dead, and I would rather want Bionicle to stay dead rather then that SCCBS slop. IMO, the closest thing to bionicle that exists right now is gunpla, but its not really related.
