I don't understand the design choice, it just looks like it's cracked. I guess if they give significantly more range then that's the aesthetic trade off. Personally I think there are better ways, like deeper cuts into the chest, but then some people will complain about the "tank top look".

Those are the first time the interior are visible from the back. Yes I like the single hinge when they don't do that all the other times. I do understand the distaste for knee spikes but they're not constantly there either.

Double joints CAN look nice. They're not doing them that way here and that's just as unacceptable today. This isn't improvement but equivalent exchange.

Yes the chest setup increases the range dramatically. The range is decent without them, with them they are like no other action figures. Not many action figures can put themselves in a choke hold. Most can't get the elbows past the center line of the body or even near it. Yes the tank top method is ugly too and a lot of times not that effective for range.

Joints swinging out are probably the best way overall but they look literally disjointed when doing so.
