Unfortunately though, NECA recently revealed a Head Knocker, which is like their bobbleheads, of the Trapper. Meaning NECA potentially has the license to make figures.

don't really see how it's weird, a privately owned company decides to break into the action figure market after making decent capital selling diecast stuff because the owner is clearly passionate about it and does weird off brand ips along with ones thats kinda lacking, sounds pretty straightforward to me, they've just hit a snag with Storm noticing people actually want actual 1/12 scale SF figures so they're also doing SF Alpha as Jada announces theirs.

I was thinking more of the Cereal figures they made, who were honestly asking for a Count Chocola figure? and Universal Monsters are iconic but not really a big IP most companies would go for, SF is big but they did work towards it, either way this all comes off as someone making figures of stuff they're passionate about and filling weird little gaps in the market, or big major ones that has for someone reason never been filled like with Scooby-doo

it's probably because I'm not American but thats only in the US,they're still weird as hell picks to get fully articulated 1/12 figures, Tony I kinda get because he actually is known outside of the US, but making posable figures of cereal mascots is still a very niche and out there pick which again tells me more they're just willing to do whatever they like.

Velma's look has massive recognition, even to people who don't know anything about Scooby Doo. I mean, she gets Halloween costumes. Velma has always represented the brainy, introverted, practical archetype. A type of character not often found in action figure lines. Many women, lgbtq (yeh, I went there) and neurodivergent people indentify with her. The character has fans outside of those that just like coomer pics and it's kind of insult to think that's the only reason she's popular.

Phantom Shadow is the kind of design that I think only works in a cartoon. For my taste in what I want in a toy, there'd be no lower body articulation, so posing is limited to "standing there". And those sleeves, unless they go soft goods, would either give you unarticulated elbows or really weird joints and arms wouldnt look right. Hed probably be fine in a line of "monster in my pocket" type toys with no articulation, but I don't think hes a good fit for Jada
Better to go with a monster not draped in a billowing cloak imo, and there's no shortage of those.

Her recognition isnt the same as Goku, Spiderman or Superman. People who like those I mentioned actually like the character for who they are. Thats why they sell. Velmafags on the other hand only really like her for what they think as her, ie a bimbo nerd or a lesbian. Do you honestly believe those women who dress up as slutty velma on halloween are going to buy the figure? What about those men who ogled this aforementioned women, do you think they'll buy the figure? Its the reason why she has transformed so much in the present and despite that the show and her popularity didnt change much. Its the same terminally online users and people who watch the show as background noise who recognize her. And lets face it Jada isnt going to release what they wanted. Only maybe a few who truly like her will get the figure and thats bad for bussiness.

I was understanding your argument until this cope. It's the same "I know how to run the company better than you" shit that every "collector" uses to criticize a company’s product decisions (like making a figure of an unpopular character) and framing it as “bad business”, implying they know better than the professionals. Saying “that’s bad for business” gives you a sense agency in a situation you don’t control. It's more about you wanting the company to validate your personal tastes. You don't actually represent the whole market, you're just the most vocal and shouting into the echo chamber makes you think your opinion matters. Who would make a TMNT line and leave out a turtle?

Toy companies like Hasbro or Bandai don’t release figures one at a time. They release them in waves. 1–2 very popular characters (to hook casual buyers), 2–3 secondary or niche characters (to complete teams or storylines). Even if the “unpopular” figure sells slower, it’s part of a bigger marketing and design structure that keeps the line consistent and collectible. Sometimes it's about cross promotion. Sometimes it's about licensing requirements.

Rest of the gang? At least committed.
Mystery Machine? They want to make it, probably a headache but they might try.
Scrappy? Toying with the idea of sneaking him somewhere.
Other characters (Hex girls)? Probably not, too early.
Charlie's mouth colour? Actually an error.

Too early probably just means "we haven't finished the main cast yet" and if you listen to him, he talks like he's still not sure they'll even hit 5 waves, since he says that 5 is his "ideal goal". You don't say something like that if your confident you'll hit it and have long term plans beyond. They sound like they're taking it one step at a time. So yeah, you're not gonna say "yeah, were totally doing Hex Girls" if you still don't 100% know if youlll be able to release Fred

nta Core Mystery Inc. members (5: Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, Velma), you get 2 monsters per wave which is 10 total. What's not to get? You think the line could sustain itself on just the more obscure monsters? After you’ve done Creeper, Space Kook, Phantom Shadow, Captain Cutler, Ghost Clown, etc., the rest start feeling repetitive.

That's what I'm saying. The first anon saying that they don't have faith in Velma is wrong, they have enough faith in the main cast to take the calculated risk, to split this into 5 waves when they could do it in as little as 2. On the other other hand, the second anon claiming there's a bigger picture that justifies less popular characters is probably also wrong. There's 0 plans for wave 6, so with only 10 slots, why the Sea Creature? It's not in the top 10 monsters and you're only making 10 "ideally", as in best case we get exactly 10.

Juhn already said they don't expect to complete the main cast until either late next year or into 2027. That's more than enough time for the first Shaggy, Scooby, maybe even Daphne to sell out and to refresh then into 2027 for those who missed out. Meanwhile, many here have already been asking for heads of Shaggy & Scooby to have wide open mouths to eat a huge sandwich just for one example. There's plenty of refreshes available, and plenty of Shaggy & Scooby costume looks from the shows when they would dress up to trick the villains. If the sales are still strong, there's no reason why they can't continue.

OH!

That's reallly, really stupid. The show ended with the gang only capturing 12 of the 13 ghosts. If the series were planned for 13 episodes you’d expect the final episode to feature the climactic confrontation with the 13th ghost. Interviews from people at Hanna-Barbera confirm that the show was cancelled early due to low ratings. "Scooby Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost" (made 34 years later, shows you how popular the show was) was explicitly made to resolve the unfinished plotline.

It was the trend for a while, turning Velma into some sort of hardcore deboonker existing to take the fun out of all the whimsy in Scooby. Everyone else was toned way down intellectually and she was solving the mystery on her own. Thankfully they started to course correct with Courage and then the Velma show hopefully put the nail in the coffin for this obnoxious Velma, and next time she can go back to being a curious nerd instead of a female James Randy in a world where the paranormal is actually real sometimes.

Incredible value for the money. The figures are top notch, the only minor gripe I have is the upper bodies being a bit cumbersome to handle due to the Gis being a hindrance. However, it doesn't diminish any of the fun you can have with these. Didn't have much time so I just struck them into some basic poses and they can actually be posed without display stands for tons of poses, great weight distribution Storm has going on there

As far as accessories go, also great value. The biggest surprise for me is the display stand which is a lot better than the ones I use for my McFarlane and Marvel Legend figures. Kinda pisses me off that other companies aren't doing this, especially when considering these only come at 25 dollars

Now, I'm really looking forward to getting Jada's Akuma since Jada has improved their poseability on the newer figures. Might also get Sagat
