For licenseslop it's remarkably good. It's insane that there are $300 legos, but this one looks almost worth it.

No cassette-player octopus, no buy.

All I see is Lego cheaping out on figs AGAIN.
Never watched the movie.

It's at the stern of the ship. I was hoping we'd get a regular octopus figure, but I'm starting to like the option they went with after getting a better look at it.

I don't think it's fair that LEGO monopolizes the franchises. This toy would be much cooler if it were a Playmobil.

... Better that this?

A Playmobil playset would have less than half the scenes and detail than the Lego one

Well, to be fair, playmobil designs toys for children, not toys for manchildren.

That's irrelevant to the conversation though.

I have never once cared about The Goonies even though my generation acts like it's the most important movie ever made.

It's just a fun and comfy movie. I don't think anyone is calling it important.

I like the goonies and think this is pretty cool but lego is insanely priced, for $330 it should at least be a complete ship that opens up instead of half of one
I guess typical lego collectors will just drop $660 and stick two of them together though, price is no object for them.

I did not, despite my love for the Goonies. However, might as well post this while the thread is still up.

I tried to show my son the goonies and he shut it off and put it on Mr beast. I bought him the one piece pirate ship instead

You should fear him. One time he pushed his sister down the stairs and blamed it on the dog!
