You really don't. Both the bootleg and legit Arcee kits kind of "just work". You don't really have to fiddle around with them much outside of some adjustment of joint tolerances.

NTA, I found my legit Arcee is mostly alright, though her shoulder pads like to fall off a bit too easily. Need to find where her kneepad went and then get to work painting her. The Windblade kit, however, is diabolical. Looks great but is a complete hand grenade, especially if you paint her. Pardon the shitty photo, I don't feel like taking a better one right now as that requires actually handling the fiddly bitch.
Can't speak for the Arcee KOs, I got both colours for like £26 or so but haven't started assembling them yet. Still not sure on what to make them into; being cheap but decent KOs I feel like I can be more daring with remodelling than the rather pricey official ones. I'm thinking Animated Dragstrip would be fun, the other one I wanna make into a coombait Arcee with a twist- thinking robot girl (male) because A: it's funny, B: I have a weakness for traps and C: it'd make IDWankers seethe.
