>is everything wrong with the fig community in you're path
The people who are bad for any collector's community:
1. that one really-rich-and stupid guy who pays such a retard high price for something that all sellers of the same thing immediately react by raising their prices on everyone else. I read a story of a group that deliberately bid up the value of their own Pokemon cards for this reason of motivating others into paying and selling them for more, and it worked.
2. army-builders. They can and do often make fodder figures harder to find and more expensive than key characters.
3. sellers who would rather sit on something for ten years at a given price than lower the price to a moving price that gets it sold. That's why so many comic book shops are floor-to-ceiling with shit they'll never get rid of. They just keep telling themselves that someone will eventually come along and pay their price.
4. "hobby experts." They're rarely friendly.
5. people with shit lives who feel better about themselves by being assholes to other people.
6. Scalpers. Can't forget about them.
