I've been to both of those places and they spoke English at a level I would consider acceptable. Also, I see a lot more people interested in learning Japanese or French than Portuguese.

So either people already speak some Japanese/French, or the tourism infrastructure is capable of handling English speakers.

The big reason why people don't visit Brazil isn't even safety (Mexico is a big tourist destination despite being arguably more dangerous) it's that there's nothing worth seeing
Sure there's nature I guess but surrounding countries also have the Amazon (Peru, Ecuador, Colombia etc) and the Pampas (Argentina, Uruguay) and are easier and cheaper to get to, the really unique ecosystems like the Cerrado and Caatinga are in places that are insanely hard to get to (and only a few nerds are interested in that kinda stuff anyways)
And there's no real monuments or historic attractions, even if you're into colonial architecture you can find better examples in neighboring countries
Basically for almost anything conceivable there are neighboring countries that are easier / cheaper to get to and often safer
Brazil is really only your best option if you're a trans woman connoisseur and appreciator, like myself

South America is the most geographically isolated continent. No flights to Asia, very few flights to Africa. Europe is far away and expensive. And why would North Americans go to Brazil when a cheaper and shorter flight brings them to Mexico, which for all its organized cartel violence is a country with MUCH less negro admixture. Getting mugged for your wallet and phone is very rare in Mexico, very common in Brazil.
>>2784319
They're too much woman for the average low-T /trv/ coomer dork. Big tits, big ass, bold and sassy AF thanks to their negro blood. They walk around in bra and booty shorts in the slums, then want to dance and cock-tease you for hours. "Muh 7 inches" won't impress her at all, it's average sized down there.

Sure, Rio is beautiful. But what do you do once you've taken in the landscape? You can't exactly wander the city at your leisure, there's no really interesting architecture worth writing home about. Is traveling to Brazil really worth it if all you want to do is stay in (the safe areas of) Rio and look at the nice scenery?

Brazil is one of the few countries on Earth that is better for browns than for Whites. Speak some Portuguese and you'll be treated like any other poor brown muttoid, according to browns I've talked to. (Brazilian brancos won't be caught dead wandering aimlessly around a city on foot, so white foot travelers will always stick out.) Muh Rio hills aside, the topography of most of Brazil is very boring, and travel is expensive due to the long distances involved. I've only met a few Brazilians and didn't like them much - neither did they care for me.

Because all the travel-normies who go to brazil only go to Rio(CRIME), Sao Paulo (crime but you'll probably be fine) , or they pay for an overpriced amazon excursion.

Curitiba is an underrated city, and floripa is only really known by argies and brazilians. Blumenau is a really cool german city. Check out the other thread of the guy planning on going from BA to Rio. I posted some pics of my trip there.

I'm from Brazil and i genuinely can scarcely fathom why anyone would choose to travel here. 80% of the country is a poor wasteland. Then you have some generic cities, Rio, and beaches. I mean i guess if you REALLY love beches you can go to the more exclusive beaches down here , and if you REALLY need to see Rio that's also something but otherwise it's just poverty, crime and boring cities. There's people in this thread saying "go to the south where there's money and its like germany", i say just fucking go to Germany instead. Just go to Japan, just travel inside the US, go to somewhere else in Europe. If you need to go to a poor country at least choose something like somewhere in Africa or Southeast Asia where there's history. Brazil just sucks.

I wanted to go to a place that wasnt overrun with tourists. Plus, going to brasil was kind of like stepping back in time 20 years, before mass immigration turned my country into an Indian colony. Brasil still feels brasilian, but europe doesn't really feel european anymore. Its also a lot closer culturally to the US than asian countries (not as much as Canada), so its easier to understand them.

Theyre also really friendly if you speak a little porto.

Compared to Mexico, Brazil's topography and diversity of climates is much more limited. Yeah, it has the Amazon rainforest, but it's not like the Amazon offers any vistas - and what you can see from the road has all been ruined by logging and development. Being an enormous country, traveling overland across Brazil would be expensive and arduous. Bookable hotels start around $30 USD per night, which is hardly a bargain when I can stay in an eminently civilized country like Poland for $40 per night. The southern Brazilian cities definitely have more pleasant and well-kept downtowns, while the northern cities look more like your typical South American shitholes.

Brazil got exposed with the 2014 World Cup and also their cultural power already heavily depended on good football, good F1 drivers etc.

Similar to how India was seen as a magical exotic place before social media, now normies are fully aware of it's shithole status. Brazil isn't this cool laid back place where you go to relax, rather where you get robbed at gunpoint and see nothing but favelas.

All three countries have 10x more natural variety than Brazil. Colombia has a pocket desert with huge cacti nestled on the opposite side of the mountains from the wettest rainforests in the Americas. An enormous snow-capped mountain overlooking a tropical coast. Same with Peru and Argentina, both full of spectacular topography. Brazil has low plateau hills and that's about it.

Portugese language is also a handicap since many Americans now can understand some spanish abut almost none understand portugese. And yes, Brazil has beaches that are worse than any other beach destination as far as security, pollution, crowding, etc.

Relatively Americans go to latin america or want anything to do with it though. Why would you when a Thailand costs you about the same, only downside is the long flight.

>worried about aids
Condoms, if properly used, completely protect you from HIV and every other STD worth worrying about. If you want to be 100% safe (or are a degenerate who wants to have raw buttsex with strangers) get on PrEP. PrEP has the added bonus of putting you 100% in control, as long as you take your pills / get your shots you are totally immune to HIV (no risk of condom breaking / condom slipping / you "forgetting" to use the condom / getting stealthed etc), but it won't protect you from other STDs. Consider getting additional shots (I would consider HPV, Hepatitis A, Meningococcus B - HPV is obvious, Hep A is spread through anilingus as well as food/water, Men B gives a degree of protection against gonorrhea), and if you really are a turbo-degenerate (an average of 5 different partners every 48 hours) consider DoxyPEP (i.e. taking 200 mg of doxycicline after unprotected sex to give you a good degree of protection from syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea)

Portuguese is necessary outside of about 3 specific places, and they love bureacracy while also being insanely terrible at it.
It can be super comfy if you can get past those barriers. People willing to chat, everything is flexible, good weather, super health and fitness focused culture.

Then you try to renew your visa and end up getting delay after delay and requests for more documents that aren't even officially required and get locked out for months longer than you expected.

obviously Rio and surroundings like Paraty
but also Salvador, Florianopolis or Belem

plenty of historic towns & harbors that are worth seeing

and of course if you travel nature or /out/ oriented
everything in and around the Amazon River
or other parts like
Pantanal
Chapada Diamantina
and so on

the actual cool destinations in Brazil are really underrated and not really know
if just the flights weren't fucking 14h minimum from my home town

>its that cheese that is eaten and pooped out by maggots
You mean casu marzu? I was more thinking of gorgonzola or stilton cheese (i.e. cheese that has literal mold in it), but anon, you just proved my point. Most people will "get the ick" and never even try it. Meanwhile people with more refined taste will savour it and immediately understand why it's considered a delicacy.
It's just not for everybody anon, some people can seek out and appreciate the finer things in life, other people eat velveeta "cheese" and are happy. I'm sorry anon

My gf (female) is a Brazilian raised in America, and I am a mutt tranny, so we're really looking forward to going. She speaks Portuguese and I'm learning. I am excited to see firsthand all the /diy/ gore like >>2801775 and we both love dancing, it's gonna be a great time.
