>planning to get an airport job
>some airlines have benefits where you can fly free domestically and only pay taxes for international flights

if i were to get an airport job, which helps because i have a friend who works as a supervisor at an airline, what places would you recommend to visit internationally?

Working in an airport will make you want to Kys. You’re dealing with the general public of America and you’re also just constantly watching people coming and going enjoying their lives while you’re some peasant in the transitory

If an employer has perks that you perceive as "good," be prepared for the bad. There's usually a limit to how/when you can use them, or working for the company is just so bad that they dangle this carrot on a stick as an incentive.

Make sure that you actually end up working for the airline.
A lot of work in the industry is outsourced and most of the contractors only get very limited travel benefits.

(non office) airline jobs are really shit
only Pilots, a few technical staff and air traffic controllers are paid well on airports

if you want to travel a lot
just get a comfy job with good work life balance and high salary!
and engineering or computer science job will do

i travel about 7weeks/year on a software architect job and stopped caring about flight cost like 10 raises ago
the only one of my friends who travels more is Pilot... again, one of the few good jobs in air travel

>computer science job will do
This has been oversaturated for years. The time to get in was over a decade ago

You definitely should ask about the concrete benefits before you start.
Some airlines give their airport staff full access, although with a lower priority. This is the most beneficial but the low priority will get you stuck.
Other airlines will give you a limited set of discount coupons, possibly with blackout dates. With these you can book flights like a normal customer.
Most of the times you may get access to some kind of "travel portal" for flights, hotels and rental cars. These offers can range from duds to you being able to punch above your weight if you plan well.
