depends on where you go
northern africa has ryanair and other budget airlines shoveling in the tourist masses
Morocco & Egypt are pretty easy to travel to

everything further south is where it gets interesting
you can do a sahara expedition, but it's gonna be pretty boring unless you specifically enjoy deserts

west africa is kinda a wild card
Senegal or Ghana are fine, so is Lagos
but don't even try to go there if you don't speak french
also the nice parts, that are not extremly densly populated or monocrop agriculture are full of islamists that will literally behead you
might need to keep that in mind kek

eastern africa is probably the second easiest to travel to in sub sahara africa
but interesting places are mostly the national parks (like mara / serengeti or going for Gorillas)
if you want to walk around the country and not be babysitted by a guide, go to Rwanda!
only one that's reasonably safe - also beautiful

southern africa, well Namibia Botswana (and to some degree Zambia and Simbabwe) are the safest and easiest countrie in sub sahara africa
personally I was bored in Namibia
but Botswana was really nice, drove around myself, up from Johannesburg
for SA itself, i think there's still a thread up... it's somewhat dangerous atm

now the really intersting part is Central Africa
probably also the only place where you can find tribes like your pic rel
go to DRC! (if you dare)
it's a logistics nightmare, buuut one of the last places where you can actually expedition
my Congo Basin tour is still my No. 1 vacation I ever did
the other Congo is the easy mode, but also boring
also you NEED to speak french there as well

there's a Belgian couple who drove through DRC and made a blog about it. it is one of the best things on the internet. they had to rebuild their gearbox (or some other car thing idk) in the middle of the bush. i like adventure but not that much

This place or Tanzania are supposed to be best countries to visit on safari, but Tanzania is full of tourists from the EU because travel agencies offer package vacations there. I want to visit Botswana some day, it's apparently relatively crime free and has no corruption

Its high on my list of countries to visit before dying. Want to enter through Rwanda border and hike a volcano and see gorillas like the in the movie Congo.

Since theyre poorer I might be able to bribe them to let me play with the baby gorillas, in Rwanda the guided shoo'd them away. They totally wanted to play, its not fair!

A great read but the guy comes off as an autistic retard a lot of the time and it's honestly surprising they weren't murdered in their sleep for screaming at starving Africans for asking to get paid to help unstick their car every 10km. Having just a wad of 1$ bills to hand out every once in a while would've been a much smarter idea than stopping to lecture mobs of Congolese peasants who've never seen a white person before and don't have a central government that corruption is wrong and they'll only pay the village priest for labour

you don't have to tour by car
there is touristic infrastructure in some parts of the DRC

actually read this before my own trip to Congo, but on the original forum

honestly my experience was much better in general
though I've been to a vastly different part of the country

>>2792356
>Want to enter through Rwanda border
don't do that
the only "orderly" border crossings are north and south of Lake Kivu
and both cities on the Congolese side are not nice

>Since theyre poorer I might be able to bribe them to let me play with the baby gorillas
kek
won't work though, it's cheaper but they are still very protective about the Gorillas
for once because they get $400/tourist, but also because many researchers and people who genuinely care about the Mountain Gorillas

you may have more luck with lowland gorillas

Wakaliwood

not sure if they still offer it, but you could visit and "die" in one of their films

Yeah, Goma, when I was near it we dropped off a solo woman in her 20s on her way to DRC.

Im not fucking joking...Im going to wrestle with a baby gorilla.

may I suggest to study Biology?

either go into zoology
or join a research mission for a few months

the latter one is quite easy as a PhD researcher from USA, France, Germany etc.
oh and learn French

that's a 6-8y plan with a near 100% success chance of wrestling baby gorilla

i don't get it your post

>online
if you want to get into primate research, you got to attend good university for this (e.g. like LMU, Heidelberg, Gรถttingen or Leipzig (only because Primate Research centers) in Germany)
and they all have LOTS of practical courses for Biology (everything else would be bad)

so no online classes!

and yes it's relatively easy to get into the relevant research groups
don't be a retard (somewhat good grades) and start as HiWi (helper of researcher job for students) early
if you're dedicated it's near 100%

I AM a Primatologist. What do you think you are, hueman-mortal?!
>practical courses for Biology
I lecture advanced Biology Theory, namely Morphic Resonance in Systems Biology, Developmental Biology, Cognition and Evolutionary Theory.
>it's relatively easy to get into the relevant research groups
Not when Im invalidating their research with my own.
>don't be a retard
Stupid-smart is a term meaning so smart that midwits cant tell if its intelligent or retarded because its beyond their scope of comprehension.
>if you're dedicated
Very.

Im gong to assume you have a PhD in a tangent field...I will also assume I can school you atleast a little bit on it. Pray tell, huemie...what is thy field of expertise?

somewhat
postdoc but in computational biology (well Biomolecular Simulation, mostly cancer related)
though i've did a trip to Senegal after my Master and exchange semester to Rwanda during my Bachelor (though that was more for fun and traveling to DRC kek)

one day though
i'll buy a house and few square kilometer of rainforest in central Africa
