[when arriving in a white country], Koreans and the Japanese can use the same lane as the "white countries passport lane", and they put the Korea and Japan flag on the signs.
but when you arrive in Japan, it doesn't matter if you're Korean or white, whatever. every non-Japanese person has to join a very long, very slow, zig zag line. and you have to fill at least 2 forms that they give you. the first form, basic info. how long are you staying. etc. the 2nd form is later. when you pick up your luggage. you just declare that you have less than 1,000,000 yen, etc. it's pretty quick. basic paper forms. fill it in quickly with a pen. it's no stress.
arriving at tokyo Narita airport, there's a very long, very SLOW, zig zag line. after a fucking 12+ hour flight. economy class. packed plane. with no fucking air conditioning. then you have to get the narita express. that ALSO has NO FUCKING air conditioning. and it takes 1 hour 40 min to arrive to shinjuku. dude. it's so long. and THEN, you can't check into a hotel, until after 3PM.

I like Shinjuku but I'm not going to use it as my base for a Tokyo trip. Stay in Akabane for cheaper. You get access to the Utsunomiya, Takasaki, Keihin-Tohoku, Shonan-Shinjuku, Saikyo, Nanboku, and Saitama Railway lines.

Japs are offensively bad at organizing their airports. complete fucking clusterfuck, and the digital customs systems they introduced recently is like something out of 1986 that is even slower than the manual checks they used to do. and to make matters worse, because they are completely incapable of speaking english, they had to hire a bunch of pajeets to herd the foreigners around the airport and tell them where to go because they can't be bothered to just organize the fucking thing well in the first place.

complete fucking shitshow of a country when it comes to tourist infrastructure

Incheon is miles better, although the lines can also be bad when you're unlucky to arrive right after another 10 planes full of chinks

I prefer NRT because how fast customs is to HND, not only that but the NartiaExpress let's me have a beer or two while getting my sim activated. Maybe don't be a retard and book HND next time if you have to be such a fucking baby about "I'm outside the city for me holiday!"

Pen and paper forms way more convenient tho, it literally takes no time because you fill out the forms on the plane.
I used VJW and got my goy code but still had to queue with everybody else for my passport to be mistreated by the dedicated jeet gaijin handlers.
The only way to avoid them is to fly in via literally any other airport besides Tokyo.

Western countries really need to step up their reciprocity game when it comes to shit like this.

perhaps you like roasting in a sauna, with fucking africa-tier temperatures. I prefer air conditioning. maybe the plane was old and their air conditioning was shit, I don't know. but the fucking narita express? no fucking air conditioning? for 1 hour 40 minutes? that's just ridiculous. it was hot as fuck. but once you get on the JR line, the air conditioning seems to be somewhat functional, all of a sudden. although they don't really crank it up that much. countless asians also complained that there was no air conditioning on the narita express. they kept trying to reach for the ceiling, and trying to adjust the air hole/fan thing. almost nothing comes out of there. just a tiny bit of air conditioning and it's not even cold. it's hot as fuck in there. it's like a sauna in that motherfucker. it's completely ridiculous. very, VERY disrespectful. you'd expect better from a fucking Japanese train. and about the very long zig zag line, do you enjoy waiting for 1 hour+ ? no one enjoys that. and I'm not using your "visit japan web" shit or getting any of your stupid retarded bullshit QR codes you fucking retard. I prefer to just use a pen and paper. it only takes a few seconds. why don't you get your fucking brain chipped too, while you're at it. and tape a webcam to your forehead that takes selfies of you 24 hours a day. you tech obsessed retard.

VJW means you don't have to fill out ADDITIONAL information at a terminal or answer things.

If you fly into NRT in the AM or afternoon it's usually empty meaning you do in fact walk right through. I think my record was literally 20 minutes from plane to out getting my sim card.

Japan isn't the perfect paradise of weeb fantasy, but complaining about non climate-controlled spaces in Asia is ridiculous. Everything is open-air here. The concept that temps should be 21 C everywhere and in every season, and that any deviation is akin to violation of some human right to be comfortable, that's uniquely American.

There was a push in Japan to be "environmentally friendly" and this includes reducing the usage of air conditioning. This is most noticeable on trains - some lines like Ginza get very uncomfortable for a large part of the year when they are crowded, and express trains like Narita Express will also use AC much more conservatively nowadays.

Of course this doesn't apply to winter. They will blast the heating up to 30C because god forbid that grandma gets cold :^)

I've never gone there in winter. but yeah. I can imagine that. do they seriously not crank up the air conditioning though? in the summer? it was only spring, recently. so maybe they were like, "fuck it, it's too early to turn it on for now. just leave it off."

I had a pajeet come up to me at HND for a "random security check" where he asked a bunch of stupid questions and needed to see my passport. The entire time i was wondering why tf there is a pajeet there and whether he was a real employee or some type of scammer. He only "random checked" the white people. He had to repeat every question 4 times because I couldn't understand him, and his breath stank.

Major private railways like Keisei Electric Railway have air conditioners on their trains.
People in countries where schools are closed when the temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, and Japanese people experience temperature differently.
Also, in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, people use extreme air conditioning without considering environmental impact, economic efficiency, or human health.

it takes about 40 minutes, nippori to shinjuku, on the JR line. and the train is packed as fuck. may aswell say "fuck it" and take the narita express. then you have a nice seat, and you don't have to change train, etc. it takes you straight to shibuya, then shinjuku.

It takes 20 minutes from Nippori to Shinjuku by taking the JR Yamanote line counterclockwise.
The Yamanote line takes 60 minutes per lap, so did you go clockwise to Shinjuku?
Did the train pass through stations such as Akihabara, Tokyo and Shibuya on the way?

the JR line was packed as fuck. and I was carrying a large luggage. and people pushing me etc, trying to get onto the packed train. it's fucking impractical. narita express, you get a nice seat, with your own special narita express platform, and you don't have to change train.
the skyline is shit. I don't want to go to nippori. I want to go DIRECTLY to shibuya, or shinjuku.
about the JR line, I went counterclockwise, from akihabara to shinjuku. but it said "clockwise" on the thing, even though it was actually counterclockwise.

I admit, skyline sounds better and quicker, but, I don't want to go to nippori. and I don't want to change train and take the ultra packed JR line. the narita express is much better for me. I want to go directly to shibuya, or shinjuku.

I used to assume every non-East Asian in this country could speak English, and I would default to English whenever they're around, but I quickly realized that a lot of these people simply just can't speak English.
They came here for a reason (work?) and so they learned Japanese, rightfully so, and not English, because they're in Japan. Specially the ones working low skilled labor jobs, there's a reason why that's the only job they can qualify for.

Don't like it? Pay up for the Japanese version of Global Entry (trusted traveller). Except you won't qualify because you're a bum with no real career or income (no, unemployed speculator does not count as an occupation)

>have to fill at least 2 forms that they give you
I literally used the wifi in the airplane and filled out the page on the govt website. generated QR code which the immigration and customs agent scanned and waved me past

>after a fucking 12+ hour flight. economy class. packed plane
If you want to admit you're poor, just come out and say it

>then you have to get the narita express. that ALSO has NO FUCKING air conditioning. and it takes 1 hour 40 min to arrive to shinjuku
The Narita Express IS fully air conditioned, except where it says weak air conditioned car. Imagine being so fat and sweaty a/c doesn't work on you.

Don't like the Narita Express travel times? Pay for Keisei Skyliner instead. JR lines are winding indirect because it's a patchwork of railways that once got nationalized and then broken up. Keisei Skyliner literally has new tracks built on the remnants of the stillborn Narita Shinkansen killed by local NIMBYs and runs straight AND fast
