there's petty crime, with phone / bag snatchers typically being the worst thing that can happen
don't go near the Somali border, the north rift region and avoid big crowds

on Safari you're in secluded / protected areas anyway

Uganda is a bit safer
Rwanda is safer than like half of European countries
