It seems that it is less Fourth World than the rest of the country. Has any anon here been there?

My dad's first job out of college in the Assam oil fields was to bribe local politicians with prostitutes. He said the whole process disgusted him so much that he moved out of the country.

Its pretty nice. Probably the best place to see the Himalayas away from jeet hordes (relatively) along with Bhutan. Meghalaya has crazy waterfalls (I think it gets the most rainfall in the world). They also have Rhinos there, didnt see them myself but I only did one safari

Apart from the natural stuff, its a mix of SEA and India. Cleaner than India and way less crowded. Except the middle state of Assam which is just normal jeet and not really north eastern.
I would probably just go to SEA except for the natural stuff, although there are some cool tribes there. They used to have headhunters in Nagaland until a couple decades ago, who wore skull necklaces

psssst it's because the local populace are chinks not jeets

i heard foreigners (and maybe even locals) need a special permit to even visit. never been to india and am not a jeet (i'm a chink) so dfk the logistics of that or how convenient/inconvenient it is to obtain

green, mountainous, and surprisingly christian, like it's a popular place for christian missionary work

also sorta dangerous, which explains the permit thing, but i wouldn't call it the only dangerous part of india by ANY stretch

another isolated and more accessible part of india is kerala in the SW on the coast. it's like communist or something idfk. but even there the people are jeets. not so in NE india

thanks... honestly reminds me of papua new guinea in some ways but if the people there were chink oogaboogas instead of oogabooga oogaboogas

in an ideal world china would literally just own myanmar and NE india (they already have arunachal pradesh, the red one on the map). that would give it a strategic hold on part of the coast. myanmar has lots in common culturally with SW china
