>The brokefag parts of Sharjah look downright Third World, even though the city touts its Arab luxury. It doesn't. Sharjah is in a different Emirate and a different city and doesn't tout any luxury. When is the last time you've seen a "Come to Sharjah" ad? It's very low-key in terms of flexing its "attraction," and it's 110% geared towards the carpetbaggers and not-so-rich locals who work in Dubai. Plus, the brokefag spots look Third World in almost any part of the world go to Oakland and tell me that place is First World, lol. Sharjah looks A LOT better in the middle class and central spots.
My entire post was just trying to tell OP to work with what he's got in case he is not into the "luxuries" of Dubai (most of which are considered normal, everyday things in the US). Dubai is definitely organically geared towards rich kids of XY middle- to low-income countries, and I disagree with them gearing their marketing towards westroids.
I agree with you that the UAE isn't appealing for anyone who isn't a Bling Bling Instagram NPC. I am in the same boat as you personally, But if you're not an NPC and you found yourself there and you want something less soulless, Sharjah is the way.
