I fucking love the ends of the earth. Where do you go when you want to leave the world behind?

Eastern Ladakh was up there for an end of the earth feeling.
I also loved EBC but with all the crowd I cannot think I got me this king of feeling.

There's no such thing. The earth is round.
Do you mean like, the middle of nowhere?

My dream is to go to a place like this. Arrive on airplane to the nearest airport, rent a 4x4, buy a ton of canned food, cookies, bottled water, soda and toilet paper. Make sure to bring a bag with all sorts of clothing and blankets. Spend hours driving on the highway, sleep when night falls on the side of the road. Then leave the road and drive some more until I'm out of gas, ditch the car, hide it as much as possible. Then walk for a couple of days until I'm deep into uncharted lands. Then sit by a valley or a mountain to OD on presciption drugs and alcohol, let the wild animals take care of my remains. Never to be found, forever lost in nature.

Why would you choose a natural setting for a most unnatural act of self-destruction? Makes no sense at all.

That's more like it. Treeless landscapes are too bleak, though it's surprising how many birds can live in a desert or steppe landscape.

Obviously never been, but some nominations for 'end of the world' are:
>Clipperton Island
Isolated as fuck island with only crabs to keep you company. A mad lighthouse keeper terrorised and raped his way through 90 stranded people when their support ship got rekt in the Mexican Revolution. Uninhabited ever since

>Bouvet Island
Where 3 plates collide in the Antarctic Ocean. Nothing at all nearby. Spooky looking. Very difficult to land on.

>Magadan & Road of Bones
World's most remote city, requires passing through the world's coldest city and 2000km of track which traverses rickety wooden bridges and massive rivers.

>Oymyakon
Called the 'Pole of Cold', near Yakutsk, the coldest place outside Antarctica on Earth. In teh middle of Yakutia.

>Diomede Islands
Islands between Russia and America. I guess you could say it's the border between today and tomorrow, the old and new worlds, and ideologies.

>Mt Kaliash
Tibet is seen as the roof of the world. Mt Kaliash is a holy mountain at the seat of 3 of Asia's main drainage systems, which flow into the East China Sea, South China Sea and Indian Ocean iirc.

>Peary Land
The top of Greenland, which I think is the closest you can get to the North Pole. Surprisingly ice free as the air is so dry.

New Zealand's isn't deserted but it's cool because it feels very far away from the rest of the world, in terms of timezone difference with your people and just how long it takes to get there.

Why did you need to bother buying all the food and toilet paper if you're going to do that?

Massive poo in his pants when he dies. Scares away animals and people, attracts flies for maggots and decomposition.

The guy's thought this through....I'll give 'em that.

Plan the Everest Base Camp. When youโ€™re nearing the end, just go off and walk away into the mountains. Or try and climb the sacred mountain where God lives that nobody is allowed to climb. You can even be accompanied by wild dogs or yaks if you feed them

On the Nepalese border of the Himalayas there are lots of isolated towns with no roads. This picture here is one of the biggest, but itโ€™s not uncommon to find just a shack or two all by itself off the beaten โ€œtouristโ€ path. You wouldnโ€™t be allowed to chop down wood and stuff for housing as they are strict about outsiders, but if you really wanted to go that route you should move to the Namche bazaar, donate money and be a member of the community, and then try and get the knowledge needed to farm and raise yaks and whatnot.
