So I was thinking on going for 4-5 days in mid September.

I've been to Iceland and it was absolutely awesome, I think I might get a similar vibe there.

Any opinions are welcome.

The Faroe Islands should be a British Overseas Territory, simple as.

Poor pecker play prospects
The kind of place that visiting makes you say "travel is pointless and a waste of money"

I can't see how this place would make you say that.

Just enjoy the scenery and bring a laptop to get some work done. Not everything has to be a thrill ride.

Thanks guys.

I'm looking for a "chilled introspective" experience and I think it could be a perfect place for that.

The weather worries me a little, but if it's not too bad I think it could be awesome to just hike somewhere, sit for a while and enjoy the views and the piece.

I have been twice anon first visit for 9 days, second visit for 4 days.

the best/cheapest way to see it is to hire a vehicle and drive around the islands camping at all the campsites with a tent. Honestly this was a fun experience but you could definitely just get a nice hotel in Torshavn and drive around. I found the Faroe's more similar too the Scottish Highlands/Dingle (Ireland) then Iceland desu. The green mountains in Faroes never fail to disappoint they are absolutely beautiful. If you are the adventurous type hitchhiking is easy and everyone is super friendly. Be aware tolls between tunnels are expensive as fuck.

Its definitely more of a relaxing vibe there, not much happens in the little towns besides the local communities there and it would be hard to get an invite, mos(t maybe all) of them don't even have pubs. The capital is cute though I guess some stuff happens there. If you have any questions let me know as its hard for me to predict what you are into. HIking Sørvágsvatn is a non negotiable keep that in mind (costs 30 franks)

Faroes is a comfy trip. Not much happens in the towns and villages, but you go there for the scenery and hiking.
weather, even in summer, can be very bad. unlike iceland bad weather is not really snow but just cold and very wet and extremely windy. with 4-5 days it could rain the whole time, or have low cloud. Your picrel is a very good weather day. If the weather is poor you just have to deal with it. could you stay longer
agree with other anon who says to hire a car and just drive around the islands. make a point of visiting an offshore one that needs boat or helicopter transfer.
recommendations: mykines out on the west, and the southern islands which see few tourists (because there is fuck all there paradoxically)

if you want a similar feel then you can visit Shetland in the UK, there is a bit more going on there as they have some north sea oil money and not just subsidised fisheries and farming. weather is less volatile, scenery equally impressive.

Thanks guys.

I'd definitely rent a car and drive around, trying to avoid the tunnels as much as possible. I think I'd just rent an apartment in a small village and use it as a "base".

Sørvágsvatn is for sure on the list and I'd like to visit another island which is not connected by road.

It's totally fine for me if not much happens, my idea is just relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

I'll check Shetland too for another trip.

Thank you again!
