1 day on the salt flats is enough. I promise.

Definitely don’t skip Sucre, lovely little city and one of the last few truly unspoiled gems in travel.

The elevation is a cunt. El Alto and Potosi will probably wreck you, the difference between 10,000 feet and 13,000 feet is stark.

Death road bike ride is a great, touristy experience imho.

If you are going to Bolivia and Peru, then do all your Lake Titicaca stuff from the far superior Bolivian side. Way more fun, way less touristy.

I spent an entire day riding the La Paz “metro” and it was great.

Apologies for the Reddit spacing, I didn’t know how else to format it. Good luck with the border if you’re American they will enjoy torturing you with process and fees and bribes.

I don't have any - I haven't been there. Don't assume where people have been. You may delete the thread now.

convert your currency in the mercado, you'll get a better conversion rate. uyuni though might not be as perfect reflection as it was earlier in the year. this anon basically hit most of the points I'd give >>2794682
1 day uyuni is the best, even one night stay so you dont ride back late night. theres llama there. sucre is such a gem that i extended my stay a few more days there. climb the effiel tower! potosi is neat too, although not as pretty its still a good place especially the plaza, mines, flea markets, and churchs. only downside is that like the anon said too, americans are the only ones who are questioned at immigration checkpoint. 150$ish dollars first time entry. havent been to la paz but heard ok things about it.

>fees and bribes
Never experienced this besides the huge fee. They are persistant that you book a place to stay before arrival. Had so much trouble with mine they just reserved a place with no cancellation fee, so pretty tedious.
