I want to travel to France for a month or two. My interests are very simple, walking around, museums, architecture, local culture just seeing the vibe. Are there any regions or cities of France Belgium and Luxembourg that aren't full of immigrants that have some French charm?

i went to bordeaux this spring. Was cool
immigration wasnt too bad.
there is one pocket of immigrants near downtown its like just south of the touristic city center and just north of the gay bohemian part
yes i know someone got jihaded at the reflection pool a few years back but seems just like any other congregation of tourist area.
but even in the immigrant area they're just busy aggressively smoking vapes and shouting to each other, nothing else.
majority of the city is very comfy.

easy access to famous tourist town st emillion - winery town with nice old architecrure, some quiet picturesque streets there too.
also nearby arcachon is a comfy beach town- i think more relaxing vibe, not where you go for architecture/history. near a dune du pilat. whats so interesting about a big dune i duno but its part of the tourist guidebook.

from bordeaux looking the directions you could go to next destinations south to birratz the basque beach town with surfing. north to la rochelle a fortified coastal town i think gets Parisians on summer break, or inland west to bergerac i think is more wine region. all these cities have small airports if need.
from bergerac if you had a car there are many river/cliff downs of Dordogne valley, like rocamadour, domme, soulliac
can get to toulouse a city famous red brick architecture - from toulouse you are near Carcassonne - the most famous castle town (i think its a 1800s recreation castle). it is near the Cathar regions they got crusaded by french catholics who had to build imposing cathedrals Albi, Gaillac, Najac

few years ago i went to Ile d' Yeu, had flown to Nantes and drove to coast, got a ferry. Its like a little fishing island in bay of biscay, now full of tourist cottages, super comfy, u cycle around, get drunk at one of the few local bars, nothing crazy but exploring the quiet island full of french that are on holiday was nice. there are young people there on family vacations who will go out and party so even tho its small location, similar to being in a small ski town you can still meet girls etc if looking.
its usually not too hot there (tho is today). i think there a few people on cheap camping vacations there. island safe to walk around tho probably prefer a bike

I like Provence. But you really need a rental car to do a lot of it. I started in Barcelona and drove up and did a 10 day road trip through Nimes-Arles-Aix-Cassis-Gourdes-Avignon with 2 nights in each stop. I don't think we ever drove more than 90 minutes between destinations. We stopped at lot towns along the way to walk around. It's nice having a car because you can leave your shit in the trunk and just walk around and explore. We hit the pont du gard, orange, Le Sentier des Ocres, Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, Véroncle and La Ciotet.
We saw a ton. I never really drove out the way for anything because there was a lot to see along our route. I loved the bakeries. A French bakery in a small town is better than anything you'll eat in Europe. But after seeing more of Europe, I like southern Spain better. French towns are cute, but they can't compete with places like Cordoba, Ronda and Seville on really any level.
