Have you ever done month+ long stays in an airbnb? Seems way cheaper than extended stay hotels, only potential downside is possibly sharing the house with people.

Yes, most hosts have some discount for a month or more, I stay in Airbnbs all year and never have a problem, but I'm not choosing the cheapest ones. If you're staying over 3 months or so it's probably worth the hassle to find an informal rental on facebook marketplace or whatever the local listing site is since it will usually be much cheaper than whatever discount they're giving you on Airbnb

On the filters just choose "Entire home" instead of "room" and that will never be a problem. The other downside will be doing all the cleaning yourself if it's not part of the listing.
