Hello travellers,
I have some question directed at any of you who have been to Georgia.
>how is the public transport there?
>which cities are a must to see
>how were the prices? (e.g how much was a standard meal/pint/bus)
>what is the best season to visit? If summer was it extremely hot and was it extremely cold in winter?
>silly question but I am assuming itโ€™s a relatively safe country
>was accomodation expensive, also how were the hostels?
>would you go back?
>did you do any experiences there that you recommend (bungie jumping, skydiving etc)
>is hiring a vehicle the best option?
Honestly any input you have I would be grateful, I am considering a trip around December/January. I am a massive food tourist if that helps.

>how is the public transport there?
I've no idea. Nobody has. Up till now, intercity transport was mainly done by marshrutkas, vans that go along a certain route and pick up and drop off people along the way. These are banned for routes between the largest cities starting from July. I have zero idea how to effectively replace these since them and emergency unmarked shared taxis are the only methods I've ever used. I don't think I've seen a single big bus plying those routes, save maybe for the one shuffling people between Tbilisi and Kutaisi airport.
Intracity, there's buses and a metro in Tbilisi that's just two lines but gets you mostly everywhere anyway since the city is long and narrow.
>prices
Rising. Georgia isn't expensive compared to Europe but it's not "lmao I'm like a billionaire now" either.
>season
Every single time I've been, I've been in the winter. Wasn't super cold but I guess that depends on your luck. I'd wager summer is much, much nicer, especially with all the grapevine all over every house. Still, the Caucasus is pretty when snowed all over and the skiing is decent.
>would you go back?
Sure.
>is hiring a vehicle the best option?
They're all insane there. They all drive like they're in a high speed Hollywood chase.
