Hey, I'm an early 30s looking to travel solo to Bali. Beaches, surfing, diving, yoga, meditation, food, meeting girls and partying is what I would enjoy doing there. This is my first solo travel so I'm wondering how easy it is to find other people there to hang out with, date etc. Going alone to a beach club would feel awkward to me. Are there other locations you would recommend over bali? Some adventure would be nice
>>2798660 (OP)The place you wanna go in Bali is called Ubud. That's where all the yoga ladies go. It's not near the beach, it's up in the mountains. It was featured in the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" and that's where young women go to find themselves. If you attend a yoga retreat there, you will be the only male in a class of 30+ young women. (Besides the instructor)
Go for it anon
Bali for some reason seems to attract a lot of solo female travellers of all ages, I was there a few weeks ago and often. I suggest finding your niche and centralising your time around that activity to meet people.
Ubud is the place for yoga, check out yoga barn, yoga roastie central plus lots of solo travellers including larpy spiritual guys, people hang around before and after classes, good people watching. Decent restaurants but not a whole load of bars so things close early. Not a great selection of gyms but Titi Batu is a good place to hang out and potentially meet people.
Amed is a good location for diving in Bali that actually has decent enough diving plus enough of a topside scene to keep you occupied. It has a few bars and restaurants but no crazy nightlife, this will definitely be the quietest spot if you visit. Beware lots of dive shops around Bali offering diving to 'holiday divers', so suggest Amed as it's a little more 'serious' so you're more likely to meet people actually into the hobby.
Uluwatu is the surf spot, IMO this is where all the cool good looking people hang out as Canggu is overblown these days. Has lots of cool spots but these are tucked away as Ulu is spread out, Ulu Surf Villas (Friday goes off), Istana Spa, Bambu gym.
Canggu is a bit of a cess pit but worth a visit, hands down world class gyms and recovery (but $$$) lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. Has a beach which is nice for morning/sunset walks (but who goes to Bali for beaches). Pererenan is slightly north but a bit classier IMO.
You will meet people but prepared to head out alone around meal times and make the effort to strike up conversations, people will be receptive as long as your vibe is not off. Focus on small intimate venues rather than huge beach clubs. I'm 40 and took a 25 year old out for drinks last trip, no bang but just illustrating a point.
>>2798818This may be good overview but useless for OP. OP wants to get laid and is not getting laid in his home country - otherwise he would not be making this thread. OP needs different destination with locals, not meeting other westerners.
>>2798842Well then, pick any other island in Indonesia besides Bali.
>>2798660 (OP)>meeting girlsThinly veiled sex tourism thread
>>2798818Canggu has a fun little beach bar circuit you can do that stays quite lively which is nice
>>2798727Seconded, as well as Ubud’s surrounds. So many art hoes to bang, and if you get off the beaten track just a tiny bit, you’ll find the local Balinese women bathing nude in the river. It’s a different world. Stay away from Denpasar, I mean take a look but you’ll see soon enough it’s a shithole and not worth wasting any time on.
>>2798818>ulawutu is the surf spotYeah is it easy to rent a board and its not too crowded or what?
>>2799816Easy to rent a board, crowded and from what I understand not the best for beginners as it's all reef breaks. Lombok is better from what I have heard, less crowds, cheaper, more beginner friendly.
>>2798727>young women go to find themselves>>2799606>So many art hoeFlying all the way to Bali just to fuck the same self absorbed, white liberal roasties that you see in every shopping mall and coffee shop in the west. No thanks. Give me a Balinese cutie.
