Im 22 male. I have a rav4 and 2k cash. I am going west and most likely living in the wilderness for a while and maybe will end up in Vegas or Texas. My family doesn't want anything to do with me and my gf left me. I used to scam people for a loving but I stopped to follow Jesus and the one true God. I truly have nobody and no path in life.

Forget Vegas or Texas. It's illegal to cook a meal in your car in Texas, or to take a nap with a blanket. Go straight to Northern California.

Arizona is pretty dope, I camped out near sedona for 2 months in a nice little spot called 89B just by the Angel's Valley cult site where those people died in the sauna
If it's anything like it was back then that was an ideal spot to camp out.

I didn't make any money, I barely spent any either, I hit up the local food bank, fasted a lot, sometimes nearby campers would give me food.

If you just want to live in the wilderness, only have 2k, and are already in the East. I'd recommend posting up in some Appalachian national forest instead.

If you are set on going West, then go West of the Rockies. Front range is crowded. Texas sucks for this, don't go. If you are going in summer dont go to Vegas either. Western Slope of CO or anywhere in the Cascades will be better. Maybe Oregon Coast, Olympic Penisula, or Idaho mountain ranges too.

Not gonna last long. You'll have to get a job at some point along the way. Thankfully, tourist towns out West will have something in the summer.

So you have no money and you're gonna starve to death if you don't become a wageslave soon. Sounds bleak.

A lot of strange characters you can fall in with. Other parts of America are more straight-laced and you're feel more isolated. Also, the seacoast.
>>2801495
Starving in America is a choice. There's many ways for poors to get food. Keeping your vehicle on the road is the biggest challenge, which is why homeless encampments full of immobile vehicles continue to grow.

I've known people who were drifting around, visited a park, then applied for a job and were hired on the spot. If OP really wants to go to Texas, he should make his way to Big Bend National Park and see if he can find something down there. It is currently low season, so IDK how many business would be willing to hire. And it's debatable whether he will find housing with A/C.
>>2801447
Free camping options are a lot more limited in the Appalachians, and there aren't many job opportunities for a drifter.

A lot of supermarkets use trash compactors these days. You're better off spanging, i.e. begging for leftover/unwanted food at bakeries and restaurants.

Most bakeries don't like to do that becuse it encourages homeless people to hang around their place which scares off the customers. The chains tend to have arrangements with food banks and the mom and pops tend to just give away stuff to their friends and family or let employees take stuff home. At least that's the way it is with donuts in California.

I kind of want to do the same thing. I'm 31, no friends, no job, live with parents who hate me, no college degree. But I have a car and 8k saved up. I'm also thinking of Texas, particularly San Antonio. But am also considering Kansas City or central Michigan. My main concern is getting a job, though, since my qualifications and past experience is so spotty.

How about South Dakota? Lowest unemployment rate in the US, and very easy to establish residency. You could try the motel + temp agency arrangement. Yeah it's a bleak joyless muttslave existence, but with harvest season upcoming there should be plenty of jobs.
