Going to Cuba in October, what should I expect? My plan is to travel throughout the west, not sure if I'll have time for the East. What are some must-dos? I like war history stuff. Flying into Varadero.

I've been in 2017, but from what I've heard, things changed since Corona. There's no dual currency system anymore for starters, I'd like to hear about other anons' recent experiences

outside of havana and varadero expect 12-20 hours of blackouts daily. food shortages etc. and bring lots of dollars or euros to exchange. i wouldn't go right now its gotten really bad in the last year or so.

plans? no, my friend, you have ambitions. nothing worked well before and now not at all. the food shortages are starvation tier. safety can no longer be taken for granted as security forces' numbers have dramatically dwindled. as such, you'll be candy for crooked cops, federales, and brazilian tier crime. they are no longer afraid to leave tourist bodies in the street. shit is completely fucked mate and like six months from total breakdown of government. did you not hear the news about the month long island-wide blackout during and after hurrican aftermath?

and another thing, if you by chance to drive to havana from varadero through mantazas, expect to be carjacked. the same risk now applies anywhere not havana. even varadero is no longer safe as a couple of cubans nearly beat some tourist to death in broad daylight.

Same I also went in 2017. Was pretty comfy then but it sounds like things have gotten rough
