I went to Mallorca eventhough /trv/ said it would suck. I enjoyed it a lot. I went with my much younger gf and we stayed for almost a week in a nice hotel right in front of the beach and also close enough to the city center. We did a lot of swimming also in the hotel rooftop pool and we did a boat excursion and had dinner and drinks at places practically on the beach.

What are some other places I should go with her? I never had someone to go on holiday with but now I really like it and wanna go to similar places, preferably maybe also even cheaper but Spain in general is fine.

kek
because it does
with the exception for some nice parks or if you're there to cycle

it's just that you enjoy the most generic, basic type of beach vacation
and the place literally doesn't matter to you

anyway
>What are some other places I should go with her?
try French / Italian Riviera
which are actually nice
>cheaper
oh

maybe Turkey if you stay inside your mass tourism bunker with beach
Andalusia is also fine
Montenegro / Albanian Riviera have cheaper food, hotels will be the same though
Greece is also surprisingly cheap, Crete, Corfu or Naxos all reachable with budget airlines and lots of hotels to chose from
Sunny Beach in Bulgaria is you want to party

any warm sand beach with minimal tourist infrastructure and decent hotels works
your experience is interchangeable
that's why it sucks

pick 1

i think you'd really enjoy the cote d'azur
but it's gonna be more expensive than Mallorca (or Spain in general)
generally the French coasts (both Atlantic and Mediterranean) are much nicer than the Spanish ones imo

if you drop the swimming pool requirement
you don't automatically exclude boutique hotels
which are often more central and unique

if you drop sand beaches
you can tour the Croatian coast
the historic city centers are really cool

honestly you don't have a lot of criteria to work with
just zoom in on any European coast and see if the vibe fits you and if any budget airline / train goes there

Go to Sardinia, fucking 10/10.
I was there twice last year, it was so good the first time that I had to go back.

don't go in mid summer though
school vacations, so everything is more expensive
and it's hot
had to abandon multiple hikes because of the heat

>I heard its expensive
depends, what's expensive for you?

for (non-eastern) Europe it's pretty normal
i guess ultra budget options are few though (also because you need a car for many things)
and high season gets expensive

but in off-season you'll easily find an apartment / B&B / hotel for ~50€/night
meals / food is just as expensive as anywhere else in Italy, ~10€ for a cheap meal, but for ~15€ you'll always find something and of course supermarkets are regular priced
rental car is ~50€/day for a small one (you don't want a big car anyway, roads get narrow, maybe 4x4, but not big)

for 2 people you can easily do <100€/day/person for a week in September/October

Italy is the perfect romantic getaway, and some lesser known regions like Le Marche or Umbria are pretty cheap. The food is great, the towns are peak kino, you can rent a room or apartment in an agriturismo (most have a pool) to chill, but the problem is you'll need a car to get around.
If that is a dealbreaker, you're stuck with traveling to cities or all-in hotels. Barcelona is pretty nice and great to go to around Christmas (not too crowded, still okay weather), other Spanish cities work too.

If you enjoyed Mallorca you might like places like Lanzarote, Crete, Santorini, Rhodos, ... although prices may vary.
