Get out of the city and go see Marin County. My advice would be to go across the bridge and check out Muir Woods, rent a bike on Angel Island and do the loop, drive over the mountain to Muir beach and then hike to the pirates cove, do the Tennessee valley beach trail, Point Bonita Lighthouse, do a kayak trip from Sausalito, do a float trip on the Russian River in Healdsburg and then go to the Russian River brewing company.

why is SF so hated on the Internet anyway?

went to SF as expat (from Germany) for a few years until 2020
with an inner Sunset apartment
and it was fucking amazing
probably the highest quality of life of any city I've ever been to

maybe a little culture shock from Germany and maybe I was a bit lucky with the people I've met
but still
great weather, great food, lots of positive / optimistic people everywhere, every cultural event you could imagine, art, music, great parks, nature nearby

In the past it was hated because it was full of selfish, smug, pretentious assholes. Massive NY inferiority complex, while being arrogant at the same time.
Now, leftists somehow turned the most beautiful and wealthiest city in the US into a dump. Mindblowing. Almost impossible to do.

Lot of feces on the streets, lot of horrific drug addiction, lot of people hawking shoplifted goods from walgreens on the sidewalk.

But... there are nice neighborhoods. And cool stuff to do.

The bad stuff is also stuff that waxes and wanes with the willpower of politicians to confront these things and try different stuff.

San Francisco is a great place to visit if you're into visiting post-apocalyptic cities or want to experience a planet of the apes type scenario. All of that old art deco architecture juxtaposed with fent addicts and shit on the streets. Kino.

People in this thread don't realize, the SF Tenderloin has ALWAYS been a dump for America's human trash, which has been washing up in the city since 1849. And yes, the Tenderloin is blatantly in the middle of the city center. For the most part, the trash knows its place, but this is only due to effective enforcement of public nuisance laws outside the Tenderloin.

Inexplicably, SF liberals in the age of BLM began feeling guilty about paying the police to "oppress" the street lowlifes, and guess what, they flooded all over the city. Recently, the pendulum has swung back, with the voters supporting stronger measures against crime and the SFPD locking up the negroes who were going around smashing car windows.

So no, San Franciso is not a complete dystopia. American cities are in political flux all the time, with periods of do-nothing tolerance followed by homeless sweeps, mass arrests, and vigorous scrubbing of city sidewalks. Overnight, the "post-apocalyptic" streets are once again clean and filled with wealthy white residents enjoying leisure time in public spaces.

Correct, but you're assuming the smug SF progressives will admit their policies failed miserably. They won't, so the process will take more time than it should. Even the report that SF filth was approaching the world's worst slums didn't change their minds.

The city's population decline in 2024 was on par with fucking Baltimore. Lets see when that changes.

What? SF has turned, rather infamously, into a shit hole because of tech bro retards - leftists have been leaving in droves for some time.
