Is Georgia (the country) safe to travel to as a lone female? Have a friend who is going backpacking there in a few months who I think is attractive so I'm curious as to what people's experiences or opinions of the country are.

There are some responses about Georgia in this thread, unsure if it will help you though.

The less brown people, the less chance you have of being raped.

Much like in other countries in that region, Georgian men tend to view foreign women as some kind of free prostitutes, so make a guess.

Yes it is safe. Women solo-travelling are clearly looking to fulfill their rape fantasies. Especially if the travel to countries where they have zero rights. So go for it. You will get fucked every night and day. And you might even get beat up a little. But that is what you wanted, right?

I was just in Tbilisi as an American for a wedding and I was shocked how many young healthy people I saw walking down the street compared to any average city in America. Alot of beautiful nature and They have seed oil free soda and great khachapuri nearly everywhere, Flew in late and only problem was I got harassed by scam taxis at the airport initially but you can just walk past them and download their version of Uber "BOLT" and the exchange rate like 3x or 4x's your money as an American. You can buy a 2.5 litre beer for 5 dollars. Very socially adjusted extroverted healthy people in my experience, traditional culture so you shouldn't lurk for the nightlife or give the checens any funny looks. Also alot of people actually speak English but it helps if you know some Russian as it's essentially the lingua franca, some aging infrastructure and lack of zoning which makes the city very walk able. saw alot of very pro EU/ Ukraine Graffiti and apparently there is a beef between them and the Armenians I found humorous .
