I got a job at an office, everyone else who works there is like 50+ years old and just coasting towards retirement. I have a cubicle so massive it's basically a private office. The downsides are it's incredibly isolating and lonely, it's making my agoraphobia worse. Literally none of the people working there like my presence I can tell because I look so young, no one has initialed talking to me, I've literally gone the past 6 months without interacting with the people in cubicles like 6 feet away from me.

Also I'm getting paid dogshit under 50k, so I'll have to leave this job before long.

Still it's pretty neat working at an office, I used to be an amazon warehouse slave and this is like the peak of existence in comparison.

the boomers sucked up all the resources and are now clutching onto it for dear life because they realize what they have and dont want anyone else to have it

the gen xers still had a chance to get in on what the boomers hadnt sucked up yet but they hated the idea of a nice life so much they wandered off into the woods to die of starvation

Same. WFH is honestly pretty insane. I work in sales for a massive company, but it's for a basic essential service that every home needs. I just wait until a customer-facing frontline agent transfer me a sales lead, and close it. Maybe like 1-2 an hour?

Salary + great commission (six figures), benefits, constant kudos from management for hitting targets. But 90% of my day is just 4chan, YouTube, playing guitar, cooking.

I've gone through spells where it starts to get at me. It's obviously not very fulfilling. But I see my friends struggling, abusing their bodies trying to make ends meet... I'm literally lying on my bed with a laptop right now. Waiting for a notification of my work computer.

it's crazy just how little work is actually asked at an office. I've had jobs with literally 1 hour of work, but I've been stuck in a cubical for 8. It's amazing how much work-from-home changes these jobs. They go from soul crushing to a minor inconvenience on a great day. Wish more jobs were work from home, it would make a lot of wage slave lives better.

I tried really hard at a warehouse job, and I didn't get to keep it because my productivity was too low. And before that I worked elderly care which almost made me want to off myself and I just can't go back to it. And every time I look for a job I have to explain why I have so many years of nothing and little to no experience, and unlike what people say it doesn't get easier, I just get more tired and my resilience is just shot to shit, it's like I'm perma-burned out. I worked a soul-sucking office job for three years through nepotism before they had to let me go because they were downsizing and the roles were redundant. But the experience from that jobb gave me zero skills and no way to land another one of those jobs. I dunno man. Thanks for reading my blog.

I had the same idea: just want a comfy office job.
Managed to get it, working from home. The basic road map was:
>get 2nd degree in accounting
>4 year program, but went year round so did it in 2. Not getting any younger after all
>graduate, get a part time finance admin gig based on degree
>bounce around for a few months before stumbling upon a random small company with work from home
>jump on it though the pay sucked
>work there for 6 months until they know me well enough to make me salary
Kind of a 2-3 year process, but man, did it pay off. Check out finance. Many will say it's dead due to TurboTax and AI, and they're right in regardless to tax gigs and becoming a CPA. However, when it comes to the cashflow, the vast majority of business want a white/Asian hand cutting those checks. Chatbots and AI are great for checking order status of Amazon packages, but business owners want a person to supervise a $15,000 invoice.

Best of luck. I sincerely want more guys living cozy stress-free lives.

Most office jobs you're not really doing anything. You spend 30 minutes doing something, send it off to someone else, then sit around waiting for them to get back to you or for someone else to send you work. You aren't constantly working like you would for other jobs like physical labor.

Yeah, it's a weird concept and took me years to figure out. I always felt I was paid for 'doing nothing' but that's not really the case. I'm paid to be on retainer. It's not that they need me working 24/7, they just want to know that when they need a job done, they have a guy to do it. I still feel kind of guilty about only working a few hours a day, but then again, if they were to higher someone every time they needed this job done, it would be crazy expensive. Best to just have the guy for that job and use him when you need him.

I feel that. I worked in warehouses and fast food before the 2nd degree. I remember working at Amazon:
>4 hour shift scanning packages in huge warehouse
>average scan-rate something like 3.2 packages a minute, though don't exactly remember
>need to use restroom
>walk 5 minutes to the front of the huge warehouse, piss, walk 5 minutes back
>get back to scanning
>30 minutes pass
>a 19 year old fat kid rolls out on desk with wheels
>"it looks like your scan rate dropped from it's usual 3.2 to 2.7 a couple of minutes ago, is everything alright?"
>Yeah, just had to use the restroom
>"Ok, well try to do that before your shift"
>quit the same day.
Fuck off~ Going back to school with the sole purpose of getting an office job was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Stay strong out there, man. There's gotta be a way out somewhere.

if you were an alcoholic fiend, odds are people know you were drunk and fucked up. People are much more willing to forgive in that situation. I don't know your specifics, but your life is what you make of it. Have some humility and try to make peace with the people you pushed out. Really. It's the only way to get your life back, as somewhat of an alcoholic myself, having people that you don't want to let down are my strongest motivator to stay sober.

I already have it in my will that if I die at work and if there is footage of it I want it posted online to the Loadsamoney song.

It really is crazy how uniting hating Indians are. Hell, at least the Chinese are mostly stuck on their CCP sites. Indians just invaded everything.

Hell yeah nigger.
Unions are gangs though. The safety there might be okay, but you could get killed by an accident caused by some faggot who should've been fired like 10 times over.

I know what you mean by unions being gangs. This one I am with is pretty good. The "We'll break your legs if you don't pay your dues" are long retired now, Covid killed them off." As for safety, I have had no issues, yet, Union guys sus it out really quick. Staff guys have been the biggest offenders and we really drag them through the mud for it. But the worst they have done is put their hands on work that isn't theirs.
We did hire jeets briefly and they didn't last a month. 90% of them clearly lied on their resumes and the others were just too much of a liability.

Working in a cubicle is a humiliation ritual. Things have only gotten more humiliating since then. They have taken away all the walls so they could cram more people in the room, and now you have to see and hear all the ugly people working for 40+ hours a week.
>Do you like hearing some faggot talk on the phone everyday? On the brightside, you do get to hear half of their personal calls to their spouse. This might be the highlight of your day!
>Do you want to hear his gay chitchat with coworkers everyday? Did you see the niggerball game last night? Jamal was unstoppable...
>Does he shake his leg all day? I hope you like the vibrations.
>Do you enjoy dumshits having small talk with you?
>We are going to place you by the breakroom, I hope you like loud fucks talking about stupid shit.
>Office meeting. Here is some goyslop, now you have to waste your unpaid lunch break listening to our bullshit.
>Office gossip? I hope you like that shit.
And it is worse than that because you are their 40+ hours a week trying to actually get work done.

You can fetishize this because you donโ€™t have to destroy your body doing it.
Any workman who has felt decades of labor ravage their body would gladly take the do-nothing desk job.

TBF, if I had work in an office 8 hours a day without some form of audiobook/podcast to listen too while waging on my computer I'd go insane. His particular job was nonsense work as well. Literally sit their without anything to do for 39 hours a week. Working in an office now is much easier. If he had noise cancelling headphones and a smart phone he would've held onto the job.

Haha imagine coming home from your 8 hours of staring at a screen and then watching kinos and playing vidya for another 8 hours
Who would do that
